??? Flickering Display on Bootup w recent Detonator Drivers

Has anyone else experienced this problem? On using any Detonator series later than 28.32 my digital flatpanel will briefly ( 2 or 3 seconds) go blank with what appears to be static lines scrolling from the bottom to the top of the display on boot-up. It always happens midway during the Windows XP loading page when the blue bar is scrolling across the screen. Interestingly enough any drivers prior to and including 28.32 do not cause this issue at all. Apart from this minor problem on boot-up however the newer drivers work perfectly. I am currently running the 41.09's with the coolbit's hack.

I was wondering if it may be related to the nview multimonitor functions on the newer drivers.. maybe the drivers are looking for a second monitor on boot-up etc. I have disabled nview since im only running a single display but this issue remains.

Any ideas?

Probably unrelated...

...but my GF3 does the same kind of "flicker" thing whenever I fire up 3dm2k1se on me regular 17" monitor using any drivers later than the 28.32s...I always thought it was related to the D3D overlay, but I ain't sure.

Possiblle Corruption from previous drivers?

hey digitalwanderer....im not too sure myself actually.. they're have been a few sets of drivers (42.01 for example) that produce this issue MUCH more. If i install those the flickering will stay not for just a few seconds when booting but almost a full minute.. and then when windows finally loads i will often get general protection error with the nv4dsp.dll being labeled as the likely cause.

Do you think it may be caused by corruption from any previous installations? Obviously i have uninstalled the older driver and even ran reg-clean before installing the newer set.

3x-4x fix?

Wasn't there a 3x.xx-4x.xx fix over at Guru3D for problems like that or something? If I get a chance later I'll poke around and let ya know.

Detonator 30.xx to 40.xx fix

yep i had seen that and run it a while back.. no difference unfortunately. Ive also ran that Bootvis program from microsoft to see if it may do anything to resolve the screen flicker ...nada.

Oh well.... cest la vie...
