Opinions About The New 40.xx Dets

Ok people i started this thread so we can get some input on the new Driver set named 42.xx.

My opinion:

I didnt see any difference compared to the 41.09s
I seriously hope that this version isnt only a "bug fix" of the 41s.(better DX9 support)
I didnt notice the slight performance change or in the quality department for that mater.

I would also like some input on the 32.20s too cause i downloaded them but didnt get a chance to try em out yet.

Ok i just tried the 32.20s and found these results.

I think this set would be one of the best of the 3x.xx series.

I saw performance that compared to the 41.09 in games 1 and 3
of 3dmark201 sec.
But when it came to game 2 and 4 it went down to the 3x.xx performance but then most of us know that the 4x.xx drivers are better performing in Game 4 especially.

I'm not sure but i think these would be good to try out on older cards gf256/gf2 etc.

Again i tried them on DX9 so maybe someone could try them on a DX8.1 setup (if theres still someone that hasnt updated )

that im going to switch to as soon as i finnish this post...hehehe

Yeah, back to the 41.09..... Personally since I bought nVidia I enjoy getting drivers.... But what is most annoying that most of the drivers don't seem to do much. And even besides that some of the drivers perform worse than previos drivers.

I've gone from the 41.09's also and apart from a slight drop in 3dmark I can see no noticable difference.

I frankly don't care about a 5-200 point drop in 3dmark.....as long as my games run fine and look fine. simple as that. It just when there isn't compatibility that I have to change drivers.

I agree entirely! My games don't look any different either way so I guess I'll stick with the 42.01 for now.

I don't notice much difference with these drivers (had the 41.09's installed), except for this game. My FPS went from about 310 to about 120! Am on a Ti4200, Win XP Home, and XP1700+ Oh well, back to the 41.09's......

Personally the 42.01 drivers work better than the 41.09, 41.04 scored my highest 3DMark 2001SE total but overall I am going to stay with the 41.09 because my games look sweet !!!!!

Serious Sam The Second Encounter with the new Beta 1.50 patch is soo smooth.

I installed Clive Barker's Undying and it looks amazing for an older title. Gonna check out Max Payne next...

another detonators that hangs with MECHWARRIOR 4: Mercenaries....

It seems that no 4x.xx will run ok with a GeForce 4400....

why?
