Its really hard to say which driver would be best for you. The thing about nVidia drivers is that they perform different on different systems and if you want to find best one, I'm afraid its by trial and error. Try the latest 29.20, some people with geforce2mx liked it better then 28.32. You can also check out 28.90 and 29.11 if you're not happy with 29.20. Run some benchmarks, play some games and report back on whether the 29.20 or 29.11 or 28.90 was better then 28.32.

You can find all of these drivers over @ Warp2Search here - http://www.warp2search.net/download....download&sid=2

Well, you only have a GeForce 2MX, so I wouldn't expect stellar performance from it.

Yeah buddy... sorry. Your GeForce2 MX isn't going to get you far in the world with full directx8.1 support. The card doesn't have the pixel shaders to handle the kinds of flashy crap that's in dx8.1 now.

Also, the 29.20 beta drivers are good drivers, but probably not for the geforce2. It seems that they're really geared towards the geforce3/4 cards because I can see a 10-20 FPS increase in the nature demo (a dx8 benchmark). Just don't expect so much out of your card. Stick to older games right now, then hit up someone for a geforce4 ti4200.

For me it is 29.40 (W2K) Stable & Fast
but by the time you read this, there will be newer, better, faster

For you W2K + Athlon users, there's an old AMD AGP-patch here:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/...09^871,00.html
that still does a very good job for me, stability wise

Default Post Ah-hem.....

My GF2 MX400 likes the 29.41 set just fine, thank you very much. I'm of the opinion that the "You have a GF2? You should use the older drivers." philosophy is a myth for people who aren't in to wreckless driver experimentation.

Default Post GForce cards yappy yap and Drivers

As the rest of you'z I Test Bench jump to the next driver go back to the old one then the older etc... To find the perfect Driver/Performance for Ahem GREAT GAME PERFORMANCE!

No-One knows which is better for the system you are running, due to so many variables the best is follow what range of driver works da best for your card (From following the postings and tests from other members) Then test 'em out and see which one givesthe greatest performance without sacrificing the LOOK/FLUIDITY of the games ya like!

Reading along I see all sorts of yap yap about cards.... Some truth
Each series of chip and card maker makes the performance, Okay some thought
GForce 2 Ti from Herc, 8GB Bandwith 64 DDR (So for the Tech's NV15DDR) 2Mill Tx Per sec
Not the good 'ol 1 Mill per sec , core clock @ 250Mhz, Ram 400 Mhz, Runs Better than the Xtasy GF4 440MX the 275 Core Clock etc.... Ramblings Truth the next gen of cards are sweet and will most certainly give you the speed/Performance When you get the Mid and Top of the card line! I guess where I am going is USE IT! MAX IT Enjoy the card Ya Gots Then when you are ready to move UP Cha Ching Buy the next $$ and do the same. (This Ramblinga result of a comment 'bout Gforce 2 not gonna cut it) I dissagree. and before I get boo'ed by eyerone. I am pointing out to some of the NEW Power Hungy Users and Newbies to Vid Overclockings etc... That there are variations in cards and The Higher GForce 2,3 Will still kick butt on the Lower GF4's. Of course My Next Venture Will be the GF4 4600 or What comes next... But Still Happy with My GF2 Ti from Hercules!

Drivers Been there Done That! Getting Awesome FPS with 23.11 Still .... gone up to 29.40 and Down (Must have atleast 400 MB's of Det Drivers) ---LOL
:o
(RivaTuner enabled Refresh Fix enabled) (85Hz)
Quake3 Arena Getting 125FPS @ 1024x768 Full Graphichs no comprimise ,cept 16BIT!
Wolfenstein 1024x768 Full Graphics all details , (16 Bit in game) (Without Timedemo 1) @ 90 - 99 FPS
Both OPGL
Unreal Tournament runs it's best in DX rather Than GL Cuz of the config I Have I wont list my FPS too many people will question! LOL anyhow needless to say I am a addict to UT and I get Way awesome FPS's

My Toy In Progress
Asus P4T 1.3Ghz P4 (Going 2Ghz in near future) 400MHz FSB
512 RD ram PC 800MHz
60Gig Hd 7200 Maxtor UDMA5
40GIG Maxtor 7200 UDMA5
Yamaha 20x10x40 2200 Writer
Samsung DVD 12x
Herc GForce 2 Ti 64DDR
SB Live 5.1
WinXp Pro, etc.... (Nothing overclocked)
1 suggestion anyone with a intel chipset try the App Accelerator, For some wierd Quark
it seemed to take some load of the system and increase the performance a weee bit!
Whats the worst that can happen (You uninstall it??) LMAO

System Specs

Default Post Det's

I have tried pretty much all the Detonator's also from 12.41 to 29.40. 23.11 or 22.80 have been the best overall for my system. I have owned 4 different nVidia cards from the TNT2 to the GeForce 3 Ti200. While I do get the best performance out of the GeForce 3 Ti200 the difference between that and my GeForce 2 Ti are really not that noticable except in some benchmarks. I can run UT just about as fast with the GeForce 2 Ti getting frame rates that vary from 40-75 FPS @ 1024x768x32 bit. I guess what I'm saying is I agree with HoTw!rEd's post. If you have a slower processor lets say from 1GHz or less the GeForce 2 line is still a good option. If you have a system that can take advantage of faster bus speeds (266MHz) and DDR, then a GeForce 3 or GeForce 4 are a better choice if you have the cash.

My current rig:

Windows 2000 Professional SP2
Athlon 1GHz 200MHz FSB
Volcano 7+
MSI 6330LE MB
512 Meg PC133 Cas 3
Maxtor 20Gig 7200 HD
MSI GeForce 3 Ti200 (3DMark 2001 SE 5789) 23.11 Detonators
Inno3D GeForce 2 Ti (3DMark 2001 SE 3988) 23.11 Detonators
Sound Blaster Audigy
Linksys 10/100 Nic
Creative Inspire 2.1
LG 16x10x40 CDRW
Pioneer 10X DVD

The very best Nvidia drivers are the 2.08's. Forget all this newfangled 1*.** and 2*.** crap, the 2.08s are still the fastest and most stable Detonators.
