Monitor Stuck in 640x480, 16 colors after reformat!
Hey all, I reformatted a day ago, and now I am stuck in 640x480 res 16 colors, And if i try and change it, it says to restart, when it does, it says my adapter is incorrect. I have no clue as to why this is doing this. I reformatted before and corrected this problem but I cant seem to get it going this time. My system stats are.

get them from www.nvidia.com

First, uninstall the card from within Device Manager. Then, reboot the system. When it does cancel the installation of any new drivers, and run the Nvidia Installer. If you have to you can install a standard VGA driver, and then install the Nvidia drivers after that.
Also, don't forget to run the VIA Hyperion (4-in-1) chipset driver, and DirectX before you try to install the Nvidia drivers.
Welcome to the forums, btw.

They automatically install in the right places, just run their installers and follow the instructions, preferably install the hyperions before directx and the nvidia drivers.

Thank you DJ stick, Tipstaff and Stop it. It was the VIA Hyperion Driver I didnt have that was not allowing the Nvidia driver to work. Having a computer and not knowing how to fix it is very frustrating. Ill try and learn from this forum, so I can might be able to help someone in he future.
