Cool! Nvidia Omega Drivers 1.6693 (Forceware 66.93)

What's New in Omega Drivers?
v1.6693

* Based on the Forceware 66.93 Official drivers.

* Added support for new laptop chipsets and some new desktop cards.

* Updated Multires to version 1.49

* Updated Driver Cleaner Omega Edition to latest version. (thanks Ruud)

* Changed driver's readme to HTML format.

Please visit my site for download and for further info on current / future updates. (and help me by clicking on the banners too)

Thanks and enjoy!

These are based on the 66.93s. They are not the latest WHQLs which are 71.84s.

I appreciate the work done by modders, but what use are old drivers modded or not if they are older than the pressent build?

erm...

is it because the modders ( who are enthusiasts btw ) do not have the resources available to them and that they need time to actually MOD/test the ( stable ) drivers, thus taking time and ensuring that us the gamers get the best experiance.

sure i guess they can bang out a modded new build as soon as a new driver is released, but will it be nearly as optimised as a driver that they've had enough time to test?

problem

is anyone else gettin this error?
im using a eVGA 6800 GT PCI-E
and my s-video connection to my tv is fluked i cant even extent it but it could be
a bug that could be easily fixed, performance in benchmarks are fine tho.. [EDIT] im also having problems with my refresh rates.. hopefully a fix will be out but noone else seems to be saying anything about this problem... i also used drivercleaner and got the same error...

@gLocK

Did you download proper driver for your OS? If you install Win98 driver on WinXP or WinXP driver on Win98 then OS reports an error like yours.

Then try to re-download driver. Corupted driver could be a reason for that.

I downloaded them and my 3DMARK05 fell by 600.Although I understand some drivers are tweaked for scoreing and some are tweaked for GFX.

Nice drivers i can finally oc my 2x6800u but one problem i cant use them
Why?Because i no longer have the option for 100hz just 140 or on 160.
I reinstalled twice and on 2 different drives but it stays the same.
Is this new or is it a problem with the drivers?
Best
joe

man.. i cant use anythin higher than 66.xx drivers either. and omega arent gonna fix these, its obvious there is a problem with these drivers and now imma have to buy a damn pci-e power supply atm im running a 500watt ultra xconnect and well
if i upgrade to anything higher than this version my fps in games suffer horribly cuz my card is being downclocked really badly.... causing my frames to run completly like shit..
so please omega. if you can make a fix for these drivers.

unless you saved the dual monitor setting as a profile before updating the drivers, you'll have to set them up again from scratch (i had to, then i remembered the profiles i'd saved!! )

I have a feeling this has a really simple answer but I have a little problem. When I try to make any changes to settings in the nVidia control panel after installing the omega 1.6693 drivers, it refuses to save them o.O I check Fast Writes off, click Apply, and it checks it back on! I make a new application profile, tell it to force V-sync, click Apply, and it turns it back off! It looks each time I click Apply, it looks like it reloads the whole control panel - like it flickers real briefly and all my doings are undone... I've been able to turn off the system tray icon and change my resolution, but it doesn't seem to want me to do anything else. It's really wierd. Anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: Ok, somehow I made it keep my v-sync setting, but it still won't let me turn off Fast Writes. Is it possible that my card just doesn't support this option? I use a GeForce FX 5900.
