New guy to this cool looking site, need advice

Ahoy everyone! First of all I'd like to hear more about your zeropoint drivers. I've got a fx5200 with 256mb memory. My pc is a p4 2.8ghz, 800fsb, 8x agp, 768mb ram. So far I've been able to run Doom3 and HL2 pretty well. When I ran doom3 for the first time I ran it with older Nvidia drivers, and when I upgraded to the 61.77 I got a huge performance increase. So now I just want to know whether your zeropoint drivers will maybe be able to increase performance a bit more? Is it just as stable? Do u guys base it on the normal Nvidia drivers and then just tweak it a bit more to get better performance, or is it a totally new driver written from scratch? I'm busy downloading it and I'm hoping for the best.

Another issue on my mind is that when I downloaded the new 66.93 drivers, I installed it , but did'nt uninstall my old 61.77 drivers first. As I was installing it windows told me that the files I'm trying to install is older than the files already installed. So that made me think it's a bit dodgy, and so I did a clean install of the 61.77 driver again. Is the 66.93 driver actually a bit better than the 61.77, and if so, will it actually affect me with my fx5200?

Anyway, the site looks quite impressive, and I've already downloaded the drivercleaner. Will certainly use it to do a clean install of new drivers. thanks

They are driver mods, not from scratch, and the zeropoint drivers are known to increase performance, so those are the ones that I recomend

Welcome to DH

I am one of the 2 who make the zer0point drivers, and no, they are not made from scratch, they are tweaked forceware drivers designed to make better image quality with a little bit of a performance increase as well.

And yes, always run drivercleaner/uninstall the drivers and reboot before installing new ones.

Hope that helps

Yes thanks you guys! And my compliments I installed the new driver and it rocks!!! My FarCry did'nt work for a long while now. When I went into the game it had this weird blueish fog everywhere, I couldn't see a damn thing. With the new drivers installed it now works. And it seems like I've got a performance increase as well.
btw I noticed the overclocking utility that's built into the driver, how effective is it??? Thanks again!!
