No TV-Out movie files on Newest Omega drivers
Hi
I'm no expert so please bare over with me.
I have just installed the newest Omega drivers (Nvidia Omega Drivers for Win2k/XP v1.5672) for my Geforce FX 5900XT card. The games work great but whenever I'm trying to watch a movie clip etc. on my TV via the TV-Out the player (PowerDVD, Classic Media Player etc.) is just black on my TV.
The player shows it fine on the monitor and windows also shows on my TV.
I used detanator 53.03 before and they worked fine. I have used the roll-back driver function and now it's all working again but I'd really like it all to work with the Omega drivers as they've worked very well when playing games.
I hope some of you guys can help me because I don't know why they fail to show movie files on my TV
Much appriciated.
Robbie

Robbie7,
Even though Omaga says it's not needed to uninstall the old driver, I would do so before installing any new version.
If you have tried to Uninstall old driver first then try this:
Edit the Omega INF (NV_OMEGA_DISP.INF) with Notepad.exe.
Look for a section called [nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings]
In here remove the following lines:
HKR,, DevicesConnected, %REG_DWORD%, 0x10101
HKR,, OverlayMode2, %REG_DWORD%, 0xF00050
HKR,, OverlayMode3, %REG_DWORD%, 0x10400001
HKR,, OverlayMode4, %REG_DWORD%, 0x3
Now reinstall driver with this INF.
Hope this helps,
Pieter.

Still black screen in media player on the TV
Hi Pieter - Thanks for replying.
I uninstalled the old drivers before I installed the Omega ones.
I tried what you wrote but after installing the Omega drivers with the new inf it's still the same problem
I didn't use the drive cleaner program when uninstalling the detonator drivers though as I prefer not to "risc" being in a situation I couldn't handle
Should I try uninstalling the drivers again and the using drive cleaner or wouldn't this have any effect?
It's sort of the last think I can think off that could help?????
Any help appriciated
Robbie

No need, the uninstaller with the current registry removal settings should take care of 99.9% of settings.
I'm glad in a way that it wasn't those settings (as I added them), they enable various features for TV/Monitor out.
You can add them back in, there was a small possibility that it might have been them as I only added them month ago. (not much trialling).
It might be a driver related problem, to confirm try installing 56.72 with the original INF (ie stock standard driver).
If it still doesn't work then its the driver, if it does then it's one of the settings, other than the ones above the Omega INF is pretty standard.
I hope this helps, and good luck,
Pieter.

After installing the Omega driver "standard" I still get no picture
I have now reinstalled my detonator drivers and I guess I must live with their lower performance
Thanks for your help Pieter... Much appriciated (even though "we" couldn't solve it)

You have just proven that the driver is at fault, phew! makes me and no doubt Omega feel better, but not you.
It's a shame that nVidia have these problems that only affect certain drivers.
Hopefully Omega will be working on 61.76/7.
Try these (normal) and if they work for you then the future release of Omega's driver should then also work.
Pieter.
