Latest Omega drivers question..

Now that these drivers support the Go series, i can use them on my notebook. I was just curious if these drivers did anything that might drain the battery more so than the normal drivers?

I haven't noticed any increased battery drain.

I decided to try the latest omega nvidia drivers, but my notebook didn't get along with them. Although, my main rig uses the ATI omega drivers. That seems to get along just fine

What do you mean with didn't get along with them.
Any errors/problems, please explain so future releases can fix the problem.

well, I have a compaq notebook. Compaq's latest drivers from compaq.com are 4xxx dets, so they're pretty old. I decided to try these, and after installing them, after the logon screen the entire display became corrupt, as if it was forcing the notebook to a resolution that it couldn't handle. The logon screen was fine (stretched 800x600 if I'm correct), but after it loaded my personal settings it just died. My notebooks native resolution is 1280x800.

The display was corrupt in a way that everything was all.. tilted. Like you took the display and pulled the bottom all the way to the left and pulled the top all the way to the right. You couldn't make anything out on the screen. It was really weird

Man i wish I could buy a USB radeon card. The geforce go cards are awful. I don't know what compaq was thinking buy pairing an Athlon 64 with a 440 Go. It's such a waste.

Which driver are you using ? I assume your on 64bit drivers ?

Your the first person to write with a problem, and I can't test it.
I can have a look to see if there is a fix for that.

The 440go wasn't the best choice for your CPU, but live and learn, make the most of what you have.

yeah, unfortunately for my price range it was the 440 Go or nothing. I really didn't feel like paying an extra $2,000 just for a mobility 9600.

In anycase no, I'm not on 64bit drivers, I'm using WinXP Pro 32bit with the 32bit compaq drivers. They're really old (4x.xx dets) but compaq wont update them and nvidia.com states the latest detonators don't support the go series. I'm not too concerned with the drivers being optimized or anything, I'd just like to get the latest nvidia.com detonators to work with my geforce go cards. Maybe I could just edit an ini to make them support it?

nVidia have just released 61.76 as their new official driver.
I have modified INFs for it and also 64bit version as well.
Give it a go, the Resolution problem is quite often driver related.

Unfortunately your drivers aren't working either.. the omega drivers cause my screen to display everything incorrectly to the point where nothing is readable, and your drivers simply knock the monitor black after logging in. I guess my laptop just really sucks huh
