Question about System Event ID using Omega 1.5303
Forgive me if this has been discussed before, I tried searching the forums regarding this question, but was unable to find anything.
I am running a Dell Dimension 8300, P4 2.8C, 1Gb ram, Windows XP Professional SP1 with a craptacular GeForce 5200 Non ultra. I know it sucks, but it's my work computer. The video card blows so bad, I can't even play Warcraft III in anything more than 800x600 16bit color, so I started searching the net to see if there was anything that could be done to increase the performance. I came across the Omega Drivers and decided to try them. I installed version 1.5303 in performance mode rebooted and tested. Everything worked fine, and gained a small increase in performance, but most games were still not playable. I went into the Nvidia Control Panel and used the "auto-detect" in the "Clock Frequencies", which moved my Core Speed from 250 Mhz to 306 Mhz, and my Memory Speed from 400 Mhz to 514 Mhz. Everything still runs fine, and gained enough performance to play some games. What I wasn't expecting was the System Event Log to be filled with warnings. My system event log is full of Event ID 107's. Which say:
Source: nv
Category: none
Type: Warning
Event ID: 107
Description:
Silent Running: rising temperature caused new fan speed = L1 -> L0
I assume that this is related to the Omega Drivers, but if I am not correct, let me know. I only assumed this because using the Official Nvidia Drivers, I didn't have anything in the event viewer, and it was also overclocked, but not as high (298/499). I don't mind these errors in my Event Viewer, but my boss minds, because they asked me why my video card drivers were posting all those event about fan speed when I don't do anything at work that is graphicly intensive. What I am trying to get at, is there a way to disable the Omega Drivers or whatever program from posting those events?
