Quick Nvidia recommendation

To make a long story short, I was wondering if someone'd be so kind as to recommend a driver set for my clunky GeForce2 MX400. Oh, and while Omega certainly seems to crank up the performance quite a bit {good work, by the way, how people gather the patience for that kind of stuff is beyond me}, it seems incompatible with X2 - The Threat, which is pretty much my game du jour. Oh, and as for the OS, I'm running Windows 98 SE.

Thanks in advance,

Quinch

System Specs

I run 53.04 with a 2MX on 98SE - the 55/56 drivers are NOT STABLE with the Geforce 2MX, and have FATAL CONFLICTS with the Winportrait pivot software.

Not sure if this is the BEST driver, but it's certainly trouble-free - and I like to pair a DX9 capable driver with DX9 installed, even though the card is only DX7 hardware.

Not noticed any significant variation in 3Dmark 2001, but I'm probably not prepared to go back far enough to reach the point where there may have been slightly better results - my thinking is that the later drivers (other than the sheer driverHELL with that last lot), tend to be more compatible with later software, if they have any chance of running it at all.

The other approach, especially for 98 and an older card, is to remember that they didn't originally intend to release the 4x.xx driver set for 9x/ME, so maybe 30.82 or older could be better tuned for Win9x

If you want to try some older drivers:
ftp://download1.nvidia.com/Windows/3...0.82_win9x.exe - the last before the 40's

One guy in there likes the 15.70 - probably available from www.guru3d.com

29.42 from Nvida was also "pretty solid" maybe more so than the 30.82.
