Default Post GeForce 4 Ti 4XXX & X-Wing Alliance = Text bleeding (W98, ME, XP)

I'm a part of the X-Wing editting community and have been seeing numerous people come forth with issues reguarding the GeForce 4 and X-Wing Alliance. They have tried Refresh rate changes, different drivers, tweaking the drivers, all for not. The text in the game bleeds on them. This happen with AND without FSAA or Anisotropic filtering enabled. LucasArts has said they will look into the problem... somebody called up nVidia who just tonight said they'd experiment with the game and see if its not drivers causing the problem. So far we haven't found any solutions at all. The game works fine for other cards using the same drivers though. It has happened to people using Windows 98, ME, and XP so far that we know of.

Anybody here think of something we may have missed?

Default Post

that definitely sounds like a driver issue.

Default Post I get the same thing. :(

Hi,

I get the same thing with X-Wing Alliance and Freespace 2.

At some point i somehow managed to get it all cleared up, but the drivers were shite so i put on the latest and the text was all shite again, so i rollbacked to the other drivers, but the text was still bad.

my config is as follows:

ASUS A7V333
AMD Athlon XP 1600+
512MB DDR PC2100
Sblive Player 1024
MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB (Offical Nvidia Drivers) (About to install one of Omega's drivers to see if that makes any difference)

Nothing is overclocked, it is as it was brought at.

I hope someone thinks of a solution.......if you do, email me: jamiek@psychonet.co.uk

If i find the solution, i will post it here.
