I have been searching and trying just about every video driver out there to get better performance out of my Gainward Geforce4 Ti4200 video card. They all have resulted in slower performance and lower benchmark's than the oem drivers provided by gainward on their CD ver. 41.04. Has anyone had this same problem and found drivers that work well
You're in the right forum, dude...the best driver for a GF4 is the Omega 14345 (=43.45), get it here. Choose "Performance" when asked during installation.
You must have one jamup system, i have to turn AA/AF off to get any kind of performance. On Dungeon Siege i turn all shading off AA/AF off 800x600x16 to get around 40 to 70 fps. I tried Omega driver 14230a and got some weard shadows that looked like light shining thru a lattice fence that would flicker and had to go back to 41.04. I tried the Nvidia 52.13 and my bench test score on 3DMark2001 SE dropped 500 points, i am now trying the Omega drivers 14345, the bench mark is almost as good as i got with the old 41.04 drivers.
