I think you should be glad you're in Puerto Rico...
...cause if you were any closer to me I think I'd drive over and give you a big, wet kiss! (In the most heterosexual and masculine spirit, of course!)
THANK YOU-THANK YOU-THANK YOU-THANK YOU!!!!!
I needed some new drivers to play with or I thought my brain would explode!
I'm downloading now, I'll let you know after they're installed & tested. (It might be away, my first official "day-off" in 3 years seems to have taken a powder due to the wife's upset stomach..... )
Thanks Omegadrive!
EDITED BITS: Dang it, I got so excited I forgot to ask whether I should do a clean-install or just install it on top of the 29.80 set I have currently installed. Which do you recomend? (And when I say "a clean-install" I mean a clean install! )

I'm liking them so far. :)
I only lost ~150pts in 3dm2k1se, but the clarity and crispness was un-freaking-believable! DroneZ didn't seem to lose any speed, but you have openGL vert sync turned off so it's tuff for me to compare to my usual set-up. (I like vert sync on, but it really throws off DroneZ's numbers.)
Enough silly benching, I'm gonna go try some GAMES!
Thanks Omegadrive, these are a big improvement in the eye-candy dept!

Help !!!!!
no matter what i do i have a 2980 version dll file called
nvoglnt.dll and none of my opengl games work.
Im running win 2k and i tried everything up to uninstalling all drivers a running the whole thing over WITHOUT ANY drivers at all.
Im gonna try installing the beta again and when promted to over write the older
nviglnt file to leave it.
I guess the XP readme doesnt apply to win 2k or that its important to have a specific set of drivers BEFORE updating to the omega.

Hmmm...GTA3 works fine for me.
I'm not saying it's you, I just thought I'd mention that GTA3 runs just peachy on Bubbles. (CUSL2-C,PIII800@960, 512MB, GF3 (240/530), win98se <------and I'm about to make me one of them annoying "system pages" so I don't have to keep writing that! )
It actually seems to be running a little better to me, and the textures are again crisp as hell!
Hold on, lemme shut it down and turn fraps 1.8a on....
___(one shut down and fraps 1.8a activation & game restart later)___
Hmmmm....too close to call. I'm still hanging in the mid to upper-40s for my slowest points and averaging about 50-60. (578 was my highest. I like vert sync off, ya get silly numbers. ) It feels as good or better than the 29.80 set to me & it looks a lot sharper.
I'm gonna go throw some other games at it and get back to ya. As for the file, try uninstalling the drivers & then manually searching for the file and deleting it after you install the default VGA drivers. (You might want to do a forum search on how to do a clean un-install, I'm pretty sure we have a decent thread on it.) Make sure when you install the Omegadrive set to answer "NO" if it asks you if you want to keep any files. (If you're running the 29.80 set you're going to have to say a lot of "NO"s... )

Not a problem.
I'd rather see a double-post than miss out on something. Besides, we got an awful lot of room on the new server.
BTW-SWEET FREAKING JEEZUS DOES RTCW LOOK GOOD!!! My hat is off to you Omegadrive, truly an outstanding set of drivers!
BTW2-OMFG!!!! Just got done trying UT and it's incredible! Sharp and buttery smooth! I think I lost about 1 fps, but well worth it!
Wanna hear something funny? This set was actually worth the wait!
EDITED BITS: Man-oh-man, do I sound like a fanboy or what? I don't care, when it comes to Omegadrive drivers I reckon I am.

Ok.
I'm a sucker for new drivers, so I naturally decided to try these out. Ran through a couple of games and noticed the improved IQ and the minimal hit to framerate. So I decided to load up the game I have been playing the most of: NWN.
I had almost decided to stick with these drivers... and I would have had I not loaded up NWN. I am not sure what it is, but when you are zoom out, I suppose your drivers have the textures remain sharp (excuse me, for I don't know all the technical talk) therefore rendering quite the ugly scene.
I do not believe this is my fault, considering it did not happen before, and I hope I can find a way to fix it, because I would glady continue using the drivers. But considering I play NWN the most, I cannot deal with the way it looks. Now, for the screenshot:
Here
I did not want to resize the image and further reduce the quality, so I made it a link.
But I do want to thank you for your work on the drivers, the difference is noticable...

Forgive me for what I'm about to say, but I think it deserves to be said...
I grabbed these drivers as soon as they were released, as I was interested in seeing the result. I recall hearing that you would be modding these drivers a couple of weeks ago, and my suspicions turned out to be correct.
I realize that one can make the argument that LOD can give the illusion of increasing texture detail; however, it also _introduces_ serious texture aliasing...and this is precisely what these drivers do.
I really hate to rain on anybodys parade, especially if you have somebody that spends their own free time providing something which is viewed as a community service...But, I was frankly shocked @ how ridiculous the artifacts were with these drivers. Sure, if all you did were to compare static screenshots to the nVidia drivers, these would _appear_ to have higher IQ...But, at the end of the day, they have _way_ too much aliasing, and the default LOD setting is far too aggressive.
If you were reset the LOD, you would end up with virtually equal IQ to nVidia's default drivers.
With that said, it must be understood that OpenGL has a definitive method in calculating LOD. When you significantly deviate from this by tinkering with the LOD bias, you're going to end up creating significant errors. I have talked with nVidia engineers about this very issue, and I have yet to talk to anybody who believes that this setting should ever be altered (it's amazing they even provided it in the registry).
Anyhow, the result is obvious...When you look @ the images produced with these drivers, the amount of distortion is so severe, that it becomes prohibitive to use. I have no earthly idea what some people are looking @ when they claim that these drivers rock....Perhaps they're not focusing on the distorted side-effect(s) ? I have no idea. All I can say is that the LOD setting is _way_ too aggressive, and the combination of distortion/aliasing and/or moire patterns is beyond significant.
