Default Post jagged in-game text

People out there, read this through and help me plz.
I am having strange problem that no one seems to have.
Some in-game texts are fuzzy, jagged, out of allignment, or something like that.
It looks like that you are looking through couple of glasses that is not prescribed for you. Some are almost illegible. I wish I have a screenshot of these symptoms. Other texts are fine in windows and not all in-games texts are screwed up like this.
so far, these games are Freespace 2, Flanker 2.5, X-Wing Alliance, certain on-screen messages in Counter Strike, and Giant:Citizen Kabuto Demo. And it's consistant from the day I built my PC a month ago.
Never had this problem with my old onboard graphic Celeron junk.

Also, it can't run in OpenGl mode in Homeworld.
I am hopeless. Now, I just started to suspect the combination of my motherboard and garphic card. It could be maybe OS related. I have no clue.
Somebody please help me.

Thanks in advance.

here is my rig:

-AMD XP 1800 with Arkua 7228 HSF
-Abit NV7-133R(latest 84 BIOS)
-512 meg, 2 x 256 Xtreme DDR(single-sided)
-Leadtek Ti 4400 128MB Retail (Omega/KX 2942))
-Maxtor 60gig ATA133
-Pioneer DVD 16x S106(slot loadong)
-Win XP pro
-nothing overclocked
-Antec 1030B case (with Antec TruPower 480W PSU)

Default Post I get the same problem. :(

Hi,

I get the exact same problem as you.

i somehow managed to fix it, but i updated to the new drivers and then all got screwed up again, i tried to rollback, but the problem stayed.

I have:

ASUS A7V333
AMD Athlon XP 1600+
512MB DDR PC2100
SBLive Player 1024
MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB DDR (v30.82)

I hope someone comes up with a solution.

Also, if you find a solution, let me know: jamiek@psychonet.co.uk

it maybe the LOD settings.

You might try to run it once WITHOUT the tweaker you are probably using.

Even switching drivers wont help if you have you Tweaker set to start with windows boot up.
Alot of settings remain and effect the new drivers too.

Depending on the OS we use different ways of updating drivers but...

I found that the best way is to always uninstall old drivers/reboot/install as standard vga/then install new drivers and reboot...and disabling any virus protection, tweakers etc. before you install .

In 3dmark one day i saw that after playing with LOD settings it did effect text.
I tuned LOD so low that i could hardly read the text but the picture was super sharp.

Jagged text could also be the Anti -Alising being turned off.(this effects performance if used though).

I suggest for most of the ppl that dont have the knowhow of tweaking to use
OMEGA'S latest set and select performance installation and NOT use any tweakers.
Omega has a built in refresh fix and a proggy to test for artifacts caused by severe overclocking.

OMEGA...u the man !!!

digitalwanderer is an unknown quantity at this point

Default Post Try pixel origin.

Use RivaTuner to adjust your "texel origin adjustment" slider all the way to the left. (It's under the "compatibility" tab.) Should clear it right up. (*on a radeon it'd be "choose alternate pixel origin"* )

hate to bring this back up

But the texel adjustment seems to have disappeared in the most recent nVidia drivers (52.16). At least, it is grayed out in RivaTuner.
