Default Post New nvidia Omega drivers "KX 1.0.2942" (Beta 2)

OK, sorry for my absence, but I have been putting things into perspective and re-aligning my life, so I'm doing "little" work on my PC and more work in my real life, to put things in balance if you know what I mean

Well, in this little time I have tweaking the nvidia drivers a little more, I still can't get the D3D drivers to do what I want, but at least they are optimized, sans the LOD, I may contact nvidia, to see "if" they can help me (yeah, right, keep dreaming... )

But in them meantime there is a new release, still beta, but runs better than the previous release.

Here are the instructions for installing them:
1) Install the regular 29.42 drivers and give them a roll in benchmarks, write down the results and take a notice of the image quality.
2) Download the Omega drivers.
3) After downloading them you must uncompress them to a folder of your choice using Winzip or any other utilitie that can extract CAB files.
4) They must be installed through the Device Manager, they don't have a SETUP.
5) No need to clean previous settings, the drivers are prepared to remove old settings, even unknown ones.
6) After the install just restart and test again.
7) Inform me of any problems or any advancements.

That's all I need, here is the temporary link to the new 2k/XP set:
http://www.omegacorner.com/files/bet...p_1.0.2942.cab

Enjoy!

All i can say is :

Family and job come first !!!

We can wait for as long as it takes for you to finish a Great set of drivers.

So far with my setup ive seen an amazing score of 6136 on 3dmark 2001 se.

Funny thing is that when i first got this card and without using RivaTuner or over clocking or using any other drivers other than its packaging set, my score was
4800(i kid you not).
And with the same setup but with a P3 733 and default drivers i got a 3600(amazing what 267 mhz can do).

Again thanks for your time and effort friend !!!!

Well, at first thanx for the work.

Now the less part the lod in d3d is the same as normal, no sharp textures as in the previous release, I've tested 3DMark2001 and UT2003.

What do you mean with sans the lod?

I saw on you site shots of Max Payne with the modified 28.90's with awesome lod, why did you drop those beautifull settings, I would love to get them back, I hate the blurry default setting off nVidia's d3d.

Default Post Benchmarks?

omega drivers aren't for benchmarks !!
they are to give you the best visual experience possible on youre Geforce !!
So who gives a F*ck about youre 3dmark score ?
Look at the picture see if it looks any better end more beautifull. Does it makes you drool?

(at least that was with the radeon the case)

I tried them this morning, they work and look beautiful in JDKII. Also looks pretty good in Red Faction as well. I was too lazy to benchmark the NVD 2942's; seems about the same fps or maybe even a bit faster.

Skinner, that means without the LEVEL OF DETAIL... As I can't correctly "tweak" it in D3D, only in OpenGL, and since eliminating the mipmaps in D3D caused a MAJOR slowdown, I decided to leave it in NORMAL until I figure out how to make the LOD work correctly.
BTW, with this drivers D3D WILL look the same as the regular drivers, but SHOULD run better than the originals.

Help !!

How can I manually, or what app can I use to change the refresh rates with the New nvidia Omega drivers "KX 1.0.2942" (Beta 2) ??

I've tried NVidia Refresh Rate Fix and NVRefreshTool 1.0, and neither seem to work

BTW, the drivers are a little SLOWER in OpenGL, that's because of the increase in detail, the FPS hit will NOT be too high, but the quality change is INCREDIBLE.

Omegadrive, are you having problems with the D3D LOD because of the ecrypted settings? The key for D3D LOD is D3D_D3D_88481200. The hex values that worked in the old drivers (pre-22.xx) work in all the newer drivers as well. nVidia just changed the name of the key.

That is not quite the kind of LOD Bias with whom he is having trouble, to know which kind of LOD he has trouble with check the older Omega beta driver´s (the 29.40´s, not these .42), the main problem with that setting was the big performance hit it produced.

Peace.

Well I must say there is a real nice image quality in OpenGL and the Direct 3D is not so bad either but not anything like the OpenGL.

Good job dude.

Default Post Gonna try these ASAP

Ive got a problem you may be able to help with, ive recently had probs with my CPU overheating, ive changed the MOBO and heatsink and fan, the CPU was runnin at 76 deg (ouch), now its at constant 43 deg, but when playing some games it tends to either boot me to the desktop or restart the comp others say its a driver problem which brings me here, with the new mobo its faster than ever and it will run on the desktop for ever but still get the problem in games, ive updated all the chipset drivers to the l8est VIA ones (4.40a) and tried various DET drivers so im gonna try yours to see if its any better, but if any of u have any ideas it would be appreciated.
