6800 gs drivers for older games?

I play mainly just cs 1.6 and quake3, I care for performance rather than iq.. No jumps.

In quake, I tend to get random jumps down from 120 > 90-100, I figured if I dropped down to some drivers intended for the 6 series I could get better performance, seemed to get worse.(im on 84.21 atm, spikes are more frequent with these compared to latest forceware)

So if you have a driver I should know of then tell me! thanks

I love Quake3 also and am know using 175.80's . I have a 19" wide screen and would run into tearing and stutter so i also was using DNA 2.2.8185 to get good performance. Someone posted on another board that he had a 6200 pci card and needed a good driver, one post suggested trying the 175.80's, so having the 6800GT i thought why not, i have tried everything else. They work great for me, same performance as older drivers and no tearing or stutter
