No programs show up in program list - even with box unticked for "only show progs on this comp" - so no game profiles at all.

Looked at NVAPPS.XML and it is blank so thats why.

Tried x2 installs on different machines = same error.

WHAT A LEMON.

Back to 177.39

TBH No, theres a bunch of us at guru3d who all have the same problem.
GeForce ForceWare 175.19 WHQL Download / Discussion - Page 2 - Guru3D.com Forums
Mostly sli or 9800GX2 users. For some there is no problem though ???

Some are using nvapps.xml from other users as a workaround, haven't tried it myself though yet tbh.

My system is very stable with 175.16 for some time now and I have no reason to change them. So you are saying the problem arises only with SLI or GX2 users, interesting.

zaim will become famous soon enough

I couldn't remote deskop with the 175.16 drivers, and I'm sure I won't be able to remote deskop using these ones... so I'll be sticking to my 174.74's

thanks

Theres that many people on guru3d with this problem its hard to tell what causing it. Single card users are also affected it seems

Only thing I think is its Win XP 32 drivers, Vista users seem ok.

No problems here with XP SP3. A full list shows in control panel 3D settings with 'show only programs on this computer' unchecked.
I have one 8800GT in my Dell XPS 630 (NVidia 650iSLI chipset).

Its only affecting users who have done a clean install of the 175.19 drivers. (eg uninstalled old,ran drivercleaner.net or similar tool to remove old driver traces, then reinstall new driver)

Those who not completley removed the old driver first don't seem to be affected - as your using the profiles from the old driver maybe ?

Judging from the following article this driver is not the cream of the crop:

FPS Impact: NVIDIA Forceware 175.16 vs 175.19 | NVIDIA Forceware,Forceware 175.16,Forceware 175.19,Forceware 175.16 vs 175.19, FPS Performance Impact: NVIDIA Forceware 175.16 versus 175.19. How much does a small driver revision impact gaming performa

It was pulled for a few days. Now a new version is available (same name, different size and MD5 hash)
