I was really hoping to use new drivers to fix this Vice City problem ;/

Downloaded it twice and it tells me that it cant copy "nvrstr.dl_" even though its right there..... someone help.

Did the same for me.....just press cancel on the box that pops up for you to browse and setup asks if you want to skip the file and continue..... click 'yes'....and the thing installs....

All seems to be fine with me, 4403's listed under 'version' in 'settings' under 'display' on the control panel.....would show you old boy, but cannot attach a screenshot to this post (limit is 1 bytes....) give it a go anyways....let us know bud

400 extra 3dmarks 2001se (build 330 relased may 2002) (also represents abou 95 % of the current games)

well this puts nvida cards ahead of ati cards if its the same amont on all cards

meaning a 4200ti beats all ati cards expt 98/9700's in 2001se

look at the chart then ... add 400 3dmarks to te 4200ti

just image wre that put the 4400ti 4600ti amd 4800 ti

I upgraded from 43.51 WHQL drivers from www.guru3d.com and noticed no IQ or performance improvement. Did not run 3DMark cuz I don't believe in synthetic benchmarks as they provide no indication of real-world performance.

I too had the same exact problem and solved it the same way wufong suggested to you. Don't think that error is a big deal because I believe that particular .dll file is just a language file other than English so if you're using your OS in English, there is no need to be concerned and probably the same reason why it doesn't seem to matter if it's missing. However, since I didn't notice any improvements and am somewhat uncomfortable with any kind of errors during driver installs, I gladly reverted back to the 43.51 WHQL drivers right away. The fact that they are WHQL probably doesn't mean squat but it just gives me peace of mind nevertheless. I'm always willing to try out the latest leaked betas regardless but WHQL releases are always nice. I'm using a GF4 Ti4400 and I honestly think that any new drivers released from here on in will not improve anything for the GeForce 4 series but for the sake of my own curiousity, I'm always willing to try what's new.

No difference to my Ti4800se...actually they are a bit slower but im not on dx9 and im sure they were intended for dx9.

Ill try em out on my other OS (win2k) with dx9 installed to see and tell you later.

did you uninstall the older drivers first ???

2 possible reasons for your problem:

A) your card isnt supported

B) your drivers are mixed up
