Default Post Shadows everywhere!!!!! (pls read in)

I have a big problem
I run Win XP Pro for quite some time now everything gets displayed shadowed. (Every symbol, word and graphic has 3 shadows (blurry))
I already tried newest driver (29.42) and switched back to 23.11 (always uninstalled drivers first and then cleaned it with nvcleaner so no drivers stay back on had and affect the new ones).
When i startup with Standart VGA there are no shadows so it has to be the drivers i think (or the high resolution???).
I tried also different resolutions with differend color dephts at different refresh ratings.
(normally i use 1152X864 @ 32 bit @ 85hz)
Anyone knows a solution to this problem???

Sounds like a monitor problem rather than a driver problem

Try installing the new driver and running in 640x480. If you get no shadows, then bump up the resolution until you get shadows. Then drop one resolution back to no shadows. This is the highest your monitor can now do.

Unfortunately, this is a problem with CRT monitors - as they get older they get worse. Brand plays an important factor here - my 19" Hitachi is now pushing 4 years old and still looks clear as day, whereas my el-cheapo ADi monitor at work is 2 years old and can no longer display resolutions higher than 1024x768 due to ghosting

Have you ensured that the monitor driver installed matches your monitor exactly? I've gotta change mine everytime I install a new vga driver as Windows always detects the right brand, model but not revision.
