Download will not work
Hi,
I have just found this site and have tried to download the latest nvidia driver for win xp. I get about 10 mins into the download and everything stops. I need over an hour to download this file.
Is the problem mine or yours and what can be done
I do not have any probs with the Guru3d or Inno3d sites when downloading drivers.
Thanks for any help.

Well i just tried to download them myself and had no problems. I let it run for a tick over 10 minutes. The speed was excellent also for me anyways. I guess it is on your end sorry to say. What type of internet connection do you have and are you running any d/l manager or firewall? Just trying to help.
Welcome to DriverHeaven hilton!

I am with btinternet and am using their dialup software via btopenworld. I also have xphome and am using the MS IE6 that comes with it. It is a dial up connection using a 3com USR fax modem.
I don't have probs with downloading from other sites for drivers or for flight sim stuff and they are all LARGE files also.
I really fancy trying this driver as I prefer quality to speed.
I will give it another go and let you know. Thanks for the welcome.

Nope it didn't work this time either. I tried the german mirror site and got as far as 5.8 megs. The funny thing is that that the connection manager will not re-start at the place where the connection was dropped.
Oh bother

I am out of here
Thanks for your replies folks. I have tried to download 6 times now but it will not work. My system is OK because last night I downloaded a 34 meg file from Lago on line for the latest version of the Tornado aircraft for FS2002 and had no problems.
My download manager will not even latch onto the original download and continue from there.
What surprises me is that the file appears to be complete and will run the setup just so far and then ask for disc 2.
Oh well , good bye Omega

sometimes it can be DNS errors, try flushing the DNS via start/run.
the driver server is fine, it was down for a day with maintenance a few days ago (not sure when this was originally posted mind you), but its served over 1 terrabyte of drivers this month and this is the only complaint or problem ive received. sometimes an ISP can cause problems via a certain server route over a period of time, packet loss etc....
I also never recommend using any download accelerators. certainly turn them off when on this site.
anyway, nice to see you on the forum and I hope you might return someday

Becouse it does the same to me.
then when i click on the file to run it installs what it has but ask for disk 2!
my file is only 3.8Mb and it says on the site it should be 15Mb.
So now what

Hi,
I have tried twice again since, holding down alt etc and no change. The size of file I get varies but about 3 megs is all I get.
I have managed to download the latest driver from inno3d without any probs so I am convinced that the prob. is not at this end.
Cheers

I was downloading the DH screensaver the other day and it did that to me 5 or 6 times- I have a very fast cable modem connection and never have had that exact same problem happen to me-
I can see how if I was on dial up that it would be impossible to get the file. I also had the same experience w/ the file appearing to be complete- but when I tried to run it, it gave a currupt .exe error-
I finally got it on one of the mirror servers, but I have no idea if the file hilton is trying to download is available on a mirror. Just to let you know it happened to me too- as you can see in the second post of this thread--- Driverheaven Tranquillity Screensaver: Rereleased
Hope it works out for you hilton.
