The NGO NVIDIA Optimized Driver is a modified version of the NVIDIA ForceWare driver. The main purpose is to satisfy the users with better performance, image quality and compatibility. This driver includes NVIDIA's new Control Panel. We’ve preferred to include the new Control Panel over the old one due to flexibility and stability reasons. The Driver has support for all GeForce/Quadro cards – including mobile series (Go) as well. This driver has a special compatibility mode option that provides better stability, and workaround for some known bugs.

Excellent drivers performace and IQ wise. But...

For some reason I can't set the GPU clock any higher than 594MHz.
Using ATITool 0.27 Beta2.

Used to be set at 620MHz with the ForceWare 162.18.
...actually used to be 645MHz with the 158's as well, but that became a stability issue with the 162's.

Is this a known problem?

::EDIT::
I've found a workaround for the problem.
Using RivaTuner I can set and apply the GPU-clock to whichever value I wish (well, within reasonable range ofcourse), and after that I can save that clock as a profile in ATITool.
Seems like ATITool doesn't like the new set of drivers or something...

Methroix these aren't worth it, get the 163.75(or 76) for the improvements made to memory handling in the 8800GTS's.

Well, in the release notes of the past few drivers it states that the memory handling in 8800gts's (specifically the 320mb versions) has been improved. Someone on another forum said that with the 163.75's they monitored the memory usage and the card no longer runs out of memory by freeing up texture memory properly.

tried in crysis beta and every time i get 320mb occupied (sometimes 340-345) v-mem use fall down under 250 (before v-mem never emptied and it could go up to 450mb)

tryed in coh.of too and same results!

i think they are really working on solving 320mb cards issues

I noticed similar results so he could be right.
