??? Drivers for a 4400?

Hey guy's i have a favor to ask of all you peeps here who have nvidia cards. My brother has a visiontek 4400 and i would like to know in all you guys opinion what would be the best driver to get what he is looking for. He is obssesed with nascar racing 2003 at the moment. Averaging around 45-50 fps at 1024x768 in 32 bit, D3D. No matter what he runs it in he cant ever get over 55 fps while racing in any setting that is worth a damn. He has tried some inf tweaks on the game and he has oc/ that card albeit a small overclock. He is very uneasy about o/cing the card anymore(dont ask it is a long story). He is looking for good image quality but with performance being the most important as well as stable.

System Specs

Sony Viao PC
P4 1.8
512 DDR
Visiontek GF4 4400 128 MB (290/600)o/c
Drivers Currently Running: 41.09
Windows XP SP1

I know that card will overclock more but like i said, I cant make him. So go ahead and let me know what you think driver wise. We have done all the common tweaks ie. nothing running in background and such. Any other tips are welcome also and thanks for all of your help.

Go with something from the 43.xx series. Those are better optimized for 3DMark03 so I'm thinking they would run Nascar better.

Those Nascar games are always intense.

I would just go with the latest ones. 43.45's.

I only suggested 43.xx cuz I know that nascar requires DX9 to be installed.

the 43.45's seem to be the best out right now for the gf4 ti series.

I'd say, get the actual 43.45 ones. I got a 4400 as well (with 8xAGP, which is 4800SE), and the're running nicely for me
What are the 3DMark01SE scores with/without OC?

try this

I also run N2K3. Im running the 30.82 driver with dx9a. At least with this driver you can turn the eye candy on and still get about the same fps that your getting now. Ive tried ALL the other drivers and this one will give you the best fps of them all. I went through the same thing as well. I always ended up going back to the 30.82 driver. Im using the Visiontek TI4600.

Hope this helps.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned Omega's Nvidia offering. I always found his image quality very nice. I am using his ATi set with my 9500 Pro and they are very nice.

Maybe someone can help me??

I have the Ti-4200 with 128MB. I have a problem when I run the N2K3 game. When I go into the opponent manager or some of the other parts of the game it will freeze up on me. I thought it might be the drivers, but I have upgraded to the Omega drivers for the nVidia card. Even after doing this I have the same problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
