Not yet for x64, and I kind of doubt they'll be in a huge rush to release a set for x64, either, with the release of Vista being super close and all...

System Specs

there is no current support for x64 drivers for the 8800 cards.

Note:
on EVGA cards, there is a beta driver on the driver disk available. That is the extent of driver support for x64 w/EVGA produts.

mine came with x64 beta drivers too. one problem i've crossed with is when i tried to play Prey, the game won't run 'cause it says there's a problem with the video card and driver combination. other games i play are looking great @ 1680x1050. i can even play oblivion now with max in-game settings, hdr+anti-aliasing.

i'm a little confused about csaa and ssaa because i chose both in nvcp (antialiasing - mode: enhance the application setting
antialiasing - setting: 8x
antialiasing - transparency: supersampling)
i mean, can csaa and ssaa work together or something?

btw, for those who need an x64 driver for 8800, there is one on guru3D. it's the same driver that came with my asus card but they removed all asus things in it.

??? Palit GeForce 8800GTX

Anyone know about this 8800 GTX?? It seems to have up to date driver support:

http://www.palit.com.tw/en/products/...e_8800GTX.html

including winXP x64

I am looking to buy myself a pair for christmas; however, I am not sure on which Cards to get. So many options:

MSI - PNY - BFG - XFX - EVGA - Gigabyte - Asus - Leadtek - Sparkle - Palit - Foxconn

Really need a battle of the boards review. I know most of the boards are based on the refrence design but I have read several reviews on the EVGA Geforce 8800 GTX w/ ACS3 and really have enjoyed what has been said. It seem to run cooler with a better OC; however, and this is the rub, it isn't even out yet (only the non ACS3) and from what EVGA has had to say won't be out until the first or second quarter of next year. I can't wait that long.

Good brands to choose from: eVGA, XFX, BFG.
Okay to choose from: Asus, Gigabyte, Leadtek, PNY
Of course, this is completely speculative, but I've found that the first 3 I listed are the best (with best customer service, etc.)

Thanks for the info - I like the eVGA & BFG myself.

but just a quick question:

Why is it that the BFG Geforce 8800 GTX has a 256-bit memory bus and all the rest of the geforce 8800 GTX have a 384-bit memory bus??

the EVGA board w/ACS 3 are available on an extremely limited supply. so limited, that they were given out to reviewers . don't ask me why there aren't more, that's just all i know.

I called eVGA up and they told me that it is still in the lab under development. He said that they were tweaking the cooling a little bit. Still to have reviews about it and none about the non-asc3 pisses me off.

Thumbs Down! bummer

I just called Nvidia and a very nice woman told me that the winXP x64-bit driver will not be ready until the end of january. A little upset about this considering i just bought the winXP x64 thinking that it would have worked fine with the 8800GTX. Now i find out that the 8800GTX drivers are available when Microsoft vista is launched. I find that to be a bit cheeky on Nvidia's part.

However, if every Video card is the same in essence then can I not download the driver from the Palit website:

http://www.palit.com.tw/en/support/driver.html

They seem to have one ready

the palit drivers are likely to be modified by palit from the beta (?) drivers supplied by NVIDIA. that is if NVIDIA allowed Palit to get a set of beta drivers.

So in theory, it should work... as all boards are the same - correct?

Turf taven, she probably confused XP64 with Vista 64.

someone that works with the nvidia drivers has informed nvnews that XP64 and XPx86 drivers will be out soon.

I just finished installing the new 97.44 driver and now i'm having an issue with the driver saying on startup that the card is not having sufficient power and it had to lower the performance of the card to avoid damage. I'm using an enermax liberty 620w power supply. I've got 2 hard drives and 1 optical drive. I'm confused because when I was using the Asus 96.89 drivers, I never had this issue and I was even able to OC my card to 650/2020. I used drivercleaner and all but still...

I'll try to go back to the Asus 96.89 drivers that came with card and see what happens. What do you guys recommend I do about this?

might be an issue with the driver. Try the 97.02 driver (if you haven't already) that was prior to this 97.44 driver and see what that does for you. As of right now though, those are the only three drivers you have available to use this card.

I only have 2 choices since I'm using WinXP x64. Anyway, I installed the Asus 96.89 driver again and everything turned out fine. But now, damn, I can't hold myself off wanting to buy a new power supply, maybe 1000w just to be sure and safe, then I'll try the new drivers again.
btw, with the Asus driver, I scored 9696 on 3DMark06. With the 97.44 driver, because it lowered the performance of my card due to "not sufficient power", even if it shows stock 575/1800 frequency settings, I scored a low 2419.
