I don't even worry about that anymore- nHancer works so beautifully I don't even touch NV profiles anymore.
http://www.nhancer.com/ Nothing running in the background.. extra features, stable... solves all my profile woes. |

same here, my 7800gt is supposed to be at 400/1000 stock but with this driver, it was 400/2000 stock and i also had overclocking problems with coolbits. I also switched back to 92.91 and everything was fine too.

be QUIET
you know nothing about DDR so keep your mouth shut.it doesn't matter if its DDR 2 or 3. it is all calculated off a base rate the only difference between the GDDR versions is Power requirement Heat production Latency. the actual speeds for the 7800GT is 400/500 the effective speeds are 400/1000 the amount of bits per clock doesn't increase the clock speed, it increases the bandwidth and nothing more. RECAP 1000 IS THE DDR RATE! where did you learn this anyway... i shove a stick of tnt in his computer to sve us from his stupidity

Watch the flame Link, that was totally uncalled for. You've been warned.
If there actually is a problem with OC'ing, it might have something to do with this http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=35244 It is on the INQ, so who knows, but seems sort of fishy.

Woah spaz Link
You can't blame people for being worried when they have always seen their overclocks displayed one way and then suddenly it's doubled.

LOL Prince Link has a short fuse. (he's right though)
Anyway- that really sucks about the OC.. does everyone have that prob or just some? Is it messed up in BOTH old and new control panels? (I am folding like a madman and won't be installing these till later......) |

ok, so i guess that one is cleared. but then, i can't even raise my clock speeds up 30mhz higher. i always oc my 7800gt to 500/1100 but with this driver, stock it displays 400/2000 and oc is only around 420/2100. i really can't get higher no matter what. maybe the INQ article is true then.

these look tasty, as do all new drivers to play with, but im in the dark about a few things concerning purevideo and its availabilty. Is it included in just some drivers? WHQL ones? do you have to pay for it? are there 2 versions, one free, one u pay for? i remember a pure video trial i downloaded a few months back(30 day then pay,but i reformatted). it drasticly improved the DVD image playback quality. Now this set says it comes with purevideo..........o wait, it says purevideo HD is included, does that include everything or just the HD end?
*Also PJ, this last time id like to beg you for an x64 set, i wanted so bad last time to check out the IQ enhancments, but ive been on x64 exclusivly for the last 6 months.*

I'm quoting some guys at Guru3D:
"I wonder why you guys are in such a hurry to install the driver... You see, on 8th of november GeForce 8800 will come, and guess what?.. Correct, the new set of official drivers. I bet on 4 days from now, and you?" He's right you know! "SLI is no longer an option for me. These drivers are so broken they don't even support nForce Pro chipsets." No one notices any speed/quality improvement! And these drivers also display fautly (double/double) memory readings! There's so much wrong with this driver, it's not even worth mentioning! Starting to sound like the bloated ATi Catalysts with their fucked up .NET, un/install problems and no more support for "older" cards! Guess I made my point clear: I'm gonna stay as far away from this set as possible and wait a few days for the new ones based on the ForceWare 96' series built for G80! C U L8R!!!

i never flamed him... so theres no need to warn. since when does saying a person knows nothing about ddr come across as an insult? fact is he doesn't, and so until he does, he shouldn't speak about it like he does. anyway, i apologise, becoz he probably got his information from that idiot Kow on guru3d. still this is annoying me, coz that idiot at guru3d is saying that DDR3 is calculated by doubling the actual clock, then doubling it again, THIS IS NOT THE CASE. DDR is just Doubled, IF IT WAS DOUBLED TWICE IT'D BE QDR! lol, the real case is DDR = actual clock x 2 so DDR1 @ 850mhz is 425x2 DDR2 @ 1000mhz is 500x2 DDR3 at 1000mhz is 500x2 the current rates in the coolbits overclock panel is incorrect. the 7800GT DOES NOT HAVE a 2Ghz RAM CLOCK! this is a bug, caused by some changes in the panel to accomadate video cards with higher clocks. it has not changed how DDR is calculated. if you have a 7800GT and it says 2ghz in the coolbit panel, this is the bug. it is really 1ghz, but the panel is reflecting it as doubled. this IS mentioned in the 93.71 release notes, and it will be fixed in a coming build also can anyone confirm that 93.71 causes the screen to refresh when the desktop loads. i didn't get this with 92.91, but now im using 96.89 it happens (96.89 has all the fixes that 93.71 has, cept 93.71 is whql so its date is newer becoz of that. + 96.89 has newer opengl.)

I have no problems with these drivers; IQ and fps are about the same(as always). OC'ing and SLI works fine for me too although I did notice the CP showing ddr rates -1200 instead of the usual 600MHz- but it still works fine. The open issues on these drivers are overwhelming but maybe they are trying to be more honest

I read that these drivers are buggy so I'm just going to wait for another official release with better reviews. 91.47's Im using are just fine, the 92.91 drivers i was using before that seemed ok came out of nowhere being laggy.
I think my system is breaking down and going to hell. Looks like I might be a captain and go to the bottom of the sea with here fine lass. Ahoy! PS. This was before I started folding again and it ate up alot of cpu cycles. . If these drivers work great for you I'm happy they do, but these newer drivers nvidia is releasing seemed to be plagued with more preoblems. This race with ATI making nvidia sloppy or have they always been so and now they have a excuse to slack off on there driver just to release faster vid-cards? I really don't care, what I do care about is a company that releases drivers of quality. Come on nvidia driver team show some some class and backbone.

Runs great on my 7900GT..
IQ is the same (it will always be the same). Performance is up in NFSC compared to 92.91. Vikinggod, nvidia banning oc is only related to the manufactors, we will still be able to oc the 8800. Just like ATI... Prince_link's short fuse comes from reading the guru3d forum... some dude is trying to teach ppl the wrong stuff. nvidia had correct clocks for 6XXX,7800 cards, but 7900 speed was half. Then they thought lets fix it and double the displayed speed of ram. So now 7900 should be fine, but below 7800 is f'ed up. (havent checked, but that's what i think happend). If 2000mhz i correct for 7800GT, and my 7900GT runs at 1630mhz, then i'd be pissed :-D hehe

yeah i guess its just a bug for the 7800 gt, i couldnt even lower it and set the clock, it would still fail to test. i was afraid that my card was malfunctioning. it would also freeze up my system for a good 20-30 seconds before testing the clock.
