exclamation Best Drive for Nvidia 6600oc

Alright, what i have is:

Nvidia 6600oc 128mb PCI-E

Dual core 830
Asus P5ND2 sli Mother Board
1 GB OCZ 5400 RAM
160 HDD

now i am have alots of problems with my Drivers. I've tried so many drivers and they arent consistant with the FPS with the game that i play (counterstrike/Counterstrike Source)
Heres the problem, i recently tried drivers ranging from Forceware 81.98 - 92.xx and it seems like the consistancy of these drivers arent stable. From what i heard 81.98 works the best and ive tried it. for the first Map that i've played, the FPS was smooth about 60-80 and now that i returned and played, it dropped to 20's. It seems like whatever driver i install, the FPS drops later on. Is there a problem with my Drivers? Video CArd? maybe i need some Fans for my V-Card? i havent overclocked it or anything. Please give me some advice or help. Thanks

+ What drivers do you think are the best drivers for Nvidia 6600oc 128mb PCI-e?

System Specs

It sounds more of a hardware issue. When the memory and core heat up it needs to be cooled or you start seeing a sudden drop in performance like this then artifacting. Are you sure your card is at factory settings with the default fan working properly? Turn your computer on and check to see if the fan on it is working.

Also do you have anything running in the background while playing games? An internet browser, messenger.

The only thing i adjusted is the Hertz and Performance & Quality Settings to: Counter-Strike Source. I opened the computer and looked @ the fan, it is running correctly i slightly touched the fan and it's spinning.

As for the programs running in the back ground. usually i would have a AIM messenger running in the background. but would that cause a great decrease in FPS?

AIM shouldnt do that...if anything, it's alerts wills teal screen focus and cause it to minimize

do you run drivercleaner in between sintalls of drivers?

Wat temps is your card running at when it starts to lag liek that?
