Alright someone explain if these are worth using. I use Purevideo for watching DVDs and sometimes WMV,Quicktime HD trailers (which are never accelerated for me) is it worth trying this driver or does the HD Purevideo only work on new model cards.

Why do we have to upgrade the driver then and not install a new version of Purevideo? Such a pain in the ass I just formatted and put the latest drivers on

i had a problem after i installed and restarted. it showed a blue screen (not bsod, just plain blue) i could move my mouse, but after about 10 seconds, my monitor shut itself off. i shut off my computer and restarted and it was fine. i had 91.33 installed before. i did the standard uninstall reinstall, using dc in safemode after uninstallation. just a warning.

These drivers suck. Profiles completely broken... Also unstable.

Really? For me, these have been the best since probably the 85 series. IQ is far superious to previous 90's builds and I've not yet had any slower performance with the games I play.

Yeah the app profiles are broken. They don't work at all- even in the new CP. Basically they just disappear after creating them- or if they are already there, as some games are.. the changes do not stick.
The drivers still force "SLI enhancement" on all the profiles that come with the drivers and I don't even have an SLI mobo. The Profiles don't work at all with the old CP either.. but they haven't for a while. Unstable meaning multiple crashes in GTR2 after updating to these drivers.. could be a problem with GTR2 as well I guess.. but I didn't get any crashes before. I am going to try nHancer for profile management because Nvidia profiles still only ever work when they feel like it.. which isn't all the time, a lot of the time it reverts back to global settings. (with all the drivers I have tried) I am going back to 91.47 for now. |

Example- It reverts back to global for one... and the "SLI performance mode" being automatically selected and unchangeable.
Also I created a separate GTR2 profile because that's what I had to do for all the previous drivers.. create a profile even if one is already there because the one that is there doesn't work. Anyway- you can see that it is gone. That happens to all created profiles. ![]() Another example is that for Richard Burns Rally no Nvidia drivers will follow the custom profile.. it always reverts to global settings.. been like that since I had an Nvidia card. Basically profiles are screwed up and have been for a while. |

PM me your profile settings for those 2 games, and I'll see about hard coding them in for you

Yep the profiles are broken it took me a few days to finally catch on but for now I just use the taskbar quick AA/AF settings if needed. Nvidia are such morons when they put out beta drivers it really is beta quality.
As for the games themselves these drivers have performed great in BF2, Oblivion, Company of Heroes and Call of Juarez so I'm sticking with them till the next profile fixed version comes out. Maybe the NGO 92.91's will come out and have this stuff fixed.

I have solved all my profile problems by using nHancer.. http://www.nhancer.com/
Stupid NV drivers will still delete the profiles you made in nHancer if you so much as open the profile page in the NV drivers. but thankfully nHancer will automatically fix it when you re-open nHancer after NV deletes them. Also nHancer is nice for when you update drivers.. It also deletes all the SLI only profiles that Nvidia stuffs in there for non-SLI rigs. it has some nice experimental modes like 12x AF and stuff like that, that work great.. It doesn't need to be running all the time to work like for example ATI Tray tools, etc.. I reinstalled these drivers (92.91) because they actually do have a nice speed increase in GTR2, the problem I was having was with the profiles mainly.. I think those crashes were GTR2's fault now, but not sure.. they only happened in replays. |

An ugly situation, but I've been keeping to nHancer so I hadn't noticed it. I can recommend the latest beta version too.

Been awhile since I've posted
I just wanted to say that I've recently switched to an nVidia 7800 GS OC AGP (no reason to go pci express yet, newer technologies have failed to impress and 64 bit OS support shows no times of maturing anytime soon to make the jump worthwhile for me).I just wanted to say that overall I'm quite happy with the card but the state of the drivers, beta and official really leaves something to be desired. Generally they function good enough but why bother including broken features into official releases? It just kind of baffles me. I really miss my ATI Tray Tools (as any former ATI user does I'm sure for obvious reasons). Any chance some smart coders in the community have contacted Ray Adams to clone this utility for nVidia users? Though nHancer is a godsend... I won't truly be in heaven until I can force tripple buffering (even though every developer should either provide it as an option or Microsoft should deregulate some of their WHQL requirements, they're truly holding back the PC games/graphics industry imo for this and other reasons, especially what with LCD's being mainstream these days).

Yeah It's almost on par with nHancer but there's no option for forcing tripple buffering in Direct3D. The only option available is DX Tweaker and to be honest the program is a bit dated. We need something slick and simple that requires no user intervention once you get what you want set up.

That's pretty strange that NHancer doesn't offer that.. if it is just a registry setting I don't understand why it doesn't. There must be some problem or different reason why they can't/don't do it. I'd E-mail the guy who programs NHancer or maybe ask in the forum there or something.
