DHzp 76.44, Gainward Expertool, no fan speed adjustment

I started using the DHzp drivers a little while ago. I really like them. I read a suggestion here that the 76.44s were recommended for 6800GTs, so I thought I'd use them. They've been working wonderfully for me, but one thing does annoy me.

Gainward has an application called Expertool that does a bunch of junk. The one thing I care about is fan speed adjustments. Gainward's 6800GT has a very loud fan, but this utility automatically adjust fan speeds based on whether the card is in 2D or 3D mode. So at my desktop I can have it run at 50% and in games I can have it at 100%. That makes the card much more usable.

With NVIDIA reference drivers, the adjustment works fine, but the 76.44 DHZP don't seem to play nicely with expertool. It seemingly cannot tell when I am just running 2D stuff, so the 3D setting is constantly on. Oddly, things work properly with the 78.03 and 84.66s.

Any ideas?

Alternatively, is there some other application that will adjust my fan speed up whenever I lauch a game?

I will look into that mathyou, the expertool app works correctly with our 8466's or with the reference 8466's? I will see if I can suggest a fix for you on this. keep the suggestions coming
