How to activate Panning mode on secondary Monitor (Mobility 9700)

Hi there,

I've been trying to figure out how to activate panning mode for my secondary monitor (run in clone mode) for quite a while now. I'm using a notebook system with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128MB. My secondary monitor is an Iiyama 8617T 17" max. Res. 1280*1024 @ 75Hz.
With my notebook TFT running at 1400*1050 @ 60Hz, clone-mode should result in the same resoltution for the CRT, but in panning mode, since DDC should tell the system the monitor's max. capabilities. Instead the CRT is forced to show 1400*1050 physical resolution. I remember having it set up the way it should be (panning mode) before, I just can't remember what I did (or didn't do) to change it.
I'm currently running the 2.6.87 Omega Drivers

Thanx for your help!
