Hmmm...this new one reports my x700 off my Gateway 8510GZ as having DDR3 memory. I thought I had DDR1 ram in the unit. It also states that the bandwidth is 128bit....which I for some reason thought was only 64bit...but not so sure about that.

Now I might actually start playing with overclocking though if I can verify the detection is correct.

Hmm, can you check your board in RivaTuner or Everest?

I just tested it in Everest. It also reads 128bit...so I guess I was wrong there. But memory reads as DDR for the type. Here's a paste of the info off the report that seems pertinent.

Graphics Processor Properties: Video Adapter ATI Mobility Radeon X700 (M26-X) GPU Code Name M26-X (PCI Express x16 1002 / 5653, Rev 00)
GPU Clock 351 MHz (original: 351 MHz)
Memory Clock 331 MHz (original: 330 MHz)

[ PCI Express x16: ATI Mobility Radeon X700 (M26-X) ]

Graphics Processor Properties:
Video Adapter ATI Mobility Radeon X700 (M26-X) GPU Code Name M26-X
PCI Device 1002 / 5653 Transistors 110 million
Process Technology 0.11u
Bus Type PCI Express x16 @ x16
Memory Size 64 MB
GPU Clock 351 MHz (original: 351 MHz)
RAMDAC Clock 400 MHz
Pixel Pipelines 8
TMU Per Pipeline 1
Vertex Shaders 6 (v2.0)
Pixel Shaders 1 (v2.0)
DirectX Hardware Support DirectX v9.0
Pixel Fillrate 2808 MPixel/s
Texel Fillrate 2808 MTexel/s

Memory Bus Properties:
Bus Type DDR
Bus Width 128-bit
Real Clock 331 MHz (DDR) (original: 330 MHz)
Effective Clock 662 MHz
Bandwidth 10.3 GB/s

Perhaps I'm just not reading it right?

Here's what I get from ATT, snipped for the pertinent data:

General
Display adapter Radeon X700 Mobile (5653)
Core Name M26
SubVendor Unknown 107B
SubDevice 0604
BUS 1
Device 0
Function 0
Base Address 0 D000000C
Base Address 1 00000000
Base Address 2 C8100004
Base Address 3 00000000
Catalyst Registry Path
System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{223F909D-2398-45D5-B703-BD2C7DC74E80}\0000
Clock Information
BIOS VPU 351.00
Current VPU 351.00
BIOS MEM 330.00
Current MEM 330.75

Hardware Information
Installed memory 64 Mb
Memory Type GDDR3
Memory Width 128 bit
Active Rendering Pipelines 8

It's that last set that had me concerned...where it says it's GDDR3 for the memory type. Just curious...since everything I've seen suggests my x700 only has DDR1.

Hmm, I think this is because you have Mobile version of X700 and some information , returned by registers can be wrong.
