Thief, Thief2 and Sshock 8500 prob
I use the OmegaDrive 2.4.72 drivers on my R8500 and in general, they work great. The only problem I've found is that running anything that uses the Dark Engine (Thief, Thief2 and System Shock 2) does not display any lightmaps. Can you imagine? Thief without lightmaps? That means no shadows to hide in (which is kind of the main element of the game). I'm thinking of going to previous OmegaDrive versions but the games didn't play that well with those, either. They displayed OK but were extremely slow (on an XP 2000+ system running win 98).
Anybody got info / a fix? |

Haven’t heard of this problem before. By the way, I played System Shock 2 with the 2.4.62 driver set without any slow down or visual anomalies. To this day they are most stable and fastest for me. Did you tweak the settings different than the way Omega sets them up?
