all in wonder9800se please help!

i have recently purchased a powercolor all in wonder 9800se as an upgrade from my powercolor 9600 pro.

My system is (bear in mind that im poor) :

asus A7V8X-X mobo, (bios v 1014.002)

Athlon 2400

512mb corsair ram

Ezcool 600w psu

seagate baracuda 160gb hd,

windows xp sp2

1 x generic combo drive

nec 3520 dvd rw,

OEM sound blaster audigy zs


My problem- it keeps crashing when i try to put any load at all on the graphics card.

i have tried the following-

bios update

catalyst that is on the cd,

latest version catalyst from ati

omega's latest version catalyst.

i will be updating my via chipset driver tonight as well.

the system will boot and run fine for a while, but if i do anything that puts any strain on it for example ihave beein running the 3d flowerbox screensaver as my test, the graphics card appears to turn off- the monitor switches itself off and the computer hangs, after a few minutes it restarts itself.

is this a common problem? can anyone help me.
