AoE III Problems

Hello everybody! I'm new here, and I'm already nagging people about my problems! :-)

I have a Radeon 9600XT - 256MB card and am using Catalyst 3.8 drivers - pretty out of date, I know. Anyway, I downloaded the AoM III demo and played it for about a week before I started getting an error upon startup saying I only have a 32MB card. It allows me to start the game, but it's pretty much unplayable.

I started up the Psychonauts demo, and the F.E.A.R. demo and encountered similar problems. Yet, other games like Age of Mythology run perfectly fine. And, when I check the ATI control panel it reports the correct amount of video RAM. I'm not sure what could be the issue.

I installed new virus software just before this problem started. Figuring it was causing some sort of conflict, I immediately uninstalled, but the problem persists.

If anybody has any suggestions, or knows of someone with similar problems, please help!

Perhaps you need to update the drivers from those 3.8's you are using.....Psychonauts and the fear demo were not around back then of the 3.8 release.

Just a suggestion.

Updating the drivers to 5.9 seems to have done the trick!

Oddly enough, when I tried installing the drivers in safe mode (WinXP), it would give me an error message about not having the required hardware or software.
