Very, very rarely I get this problem when I boot up my computer:
http://img247.imageshack.us/my.php?i...esktop11ws.jpg But when I shutdown/start up my computer again, the problem goes away... I have: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ ECS 755-A2 Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb 1024mb RAM (Corsair) 160gb HD and an Antec Smartpower 2.0 (500W I think?) |

Yep, the white dot effect. I see it perhaps one boot out of twenty if I leave OverDrive enabled, and perhaps one boot out of a hundred if I leave OD off. It seems like the memory in the card doesn't get initialized quite right every once in a while, or the timing is marginally off, or something like that.
Try lowering your card's VRAM frequency via a tweaker utility by just a little bit, and see whether the problem goes away entirely.
