Omega, leaked Catalyst 2.5 drivers?
I read somewhere on Omega's website that the customized/optimized drivers were actually based on the Catalyst 2.5 drivers. Since ATI has not, nor likely ever will release 2.5 drivers, I was wondering if the supposedly leaked 2.5 drivers were actually Catalyst 3.0 drivers. Also, are the Omega drivers really anything special, I haven't seen any real noticeable difference while using them.

Are they special?
Yeah, to me they are. I don't game much with my 8500 anymore, but I totally rely on it for all me multimedia/web-browsing/work stuff. Omegadrive drivers are "install 'em and forget 'em" for me, they already have all the bug fixes and tweaks I'd normally apply (ok, his are usually better than mine.
) but I don't have to bother opening up regeditor, loading up rivatuner, applying ReForce, etc. I just install them and everything f-ing works sweet. THAT makes 'em "special" in my book, and I really only do use Omegadrive's drivers on Blue anymore. (Well, except for when I'm testing new drivers...but I almost always go back to the O-man's set. )

Ummm the Cat2.5s were officially released by ATI last month. For most of their cards, these are still the ones listed on their download pages. Onto Omega's drivers, DW is entirely correct. Omega's are already tweaked to the gills. They are definitely tuned for image quality, so if that last 0.1fps concerns you don't get em
