Any changes made to the ATI CP reguarding quality levels will disable the benchmark profile since the profiles just play with the different quality settings, so by adding FSAA or Aniso u are in fact NOT running in the fastest mode possible (ultra low quality graphics) for benchmarks.

The Benchmark profile was NOT created to play games with it, was just created for those that want to get the highest scores in synthetic benchmarks and don't care about the quality, the way to play games is with Normal quality and above, even the low quality is reserved for very slow old ATI cards that want a little more juice.

Thank you Omega now i know what way to bench my machine and what to use in games

but there was another question.

can any of the 3d profiles harm my card?

because i ma undet the impression that only overclocking can harm a card

i never heard of drivers that can do it

am i wrong?

Omegadrive
I read that with the new DNA driver release(based on Cats 5.7),card specific tweaks are added to set.I think it'll be good also new omega drivers provide such properties,,,what do you think about this?

Only Overclocking can harm a card, not a 3D profile, also, my profiles play with the basic detail settings of the card, any other profile from another source may have additional settings.

I've had that in my drivers for years, is just that I don't boast about it

If that's the case, then why my performance drops at 50% when I select the Benchmark setting? I have 39000 points on Aquamark3 at Normal Quality profile, and it drops to 22000 points at Benchmark profile. (Radeon 9800 405/338).
Also, Omegas based on 5.4 gave me ~41000 points.

i know that you were asking homeboye this but i, among other ppl, have the same problem.
i am using retail 9600, with no mods, what so ever.
also i do not have ati tools installed or any other of that kind program.
the 'screen garbling' was happening from smthn like 5.5 and on.
thank you.

exclamation

Omega please read:

An additional issue with the Omega 5.7's was this:

1. On a standard install of Omega 5.7, if you go into the CP, you notice Anisotropic is not set to "Application Preference" but to "performance" this indicates a less than optimum default.

So one sets it to "Application Preference". But is this faster than Omega's invisible special tweak? I don't know.

2. Another issue with Omega 5.7 is that the new Ati Tray tools installs with Trilinear Optimizations and Anisotropic Optimizations defaulted to OFF? Why?

Does enabling them slow down Omega performance?

thanks Omega!

Not of course, if will speed up rendering with AF and Trilinear enabled, but you will lost some quality.

In BF2: There are 3 settings for texture filtering, low/medium/high. (probably tri/2x/4x)

low has a glitch where there are white spots under 3d objects (trees) at long distance.

On medium and high textures are good.

I mention this because when I enable both AF and TRI optimizations in ATI Tray, I get the white spots, no matter if I choose low/med or high.

?

Is there any chance that future versions of ATI Tray Tools can create a shortcut which contains all the AA/AF/overclocking settings, and the shortcut can then launch the game without loading up ATI Tray Tools?

This would save system memory for some games which now really require closer to 1 gig of ram than what is specified on the box..

Its aready done. Read readme.txt

ATT takes not more than 2-5Mb of RAM this is less than some system services.

Never touch Adavnced Tweaks if you don't know what are you doing or you can broke you board!
Most of them only for debug purpose. Some times it can help to fix strange errors. If you don't strange errors , forget about it

God you guys, this is not an Omega driver thread.

Great job Ray Adams. Keep up the good work. Hope to see more releases...

Oh, btw, any "recommanded" tweaks in the Advance tweaks interface?

No, I know, but what I mean is, indeed, what are the recommended tweaks, we can enable. You wrote on the page that we need to enable everything from the fog section needs to be enabled, but what about the other tweaks. You wrote something very nice by some settings, but we still don't know what to enable and what to disabled for performance, IQ, etc
Thnx!

Silly question, is there a way to have preset fan speeds automatic on startup?

Also I am having some lockups when playing with the control panel?
