Writing Color Profile into Video Card

I’m looking for a XP utility where I can quickly reset the video card to the correct color profile. Using the Color Management tab in Display Properties doesn’t work.

I’m using a Dell 9300 with an ATI Mobility X300 video card. The ATI or Omega driver for the X300 both have this bug in the color management area which causes the video card to regularly stop using a color profile.

When I start up Eye One’s Match 3 calibration software the program’s initialization causes the video card to start using the correct profile even before I calibrate the panel(or external monitor). Unfortunately I have to do the full calibration to get the color profile setting to stick.

Any suggestions or links are appreciated.

The following is a more complete description of the problem:

**************************>>>>

Problem 1: Color Management Fails

After the panel has been color calibrated and a color profile installed the X300 driver fails to maintain the association of the color profile with the monitor or disables color management altogether. The color management fails when the system is restarted or when the external monitor is enabled or disabled. Using the Color Management tab in Display Properties to manually select the correct profile has no effect.

Another was to demonstrate the problem is with an external monitor. With the external monitor calibrated and an associated color profile set, uncheck “Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor” in the Display Properties Settings tab and click OK. When the process is complete re-check “Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor” and click OK. When the process is complete the video driver software will no longer be using the correct profile and using the Color Management tab in Display Properties to manually select the correct profile has no effect.

When I start up Eye-One's Match 3 calibration software the program’s initialization causes the video card to start using the correct profile even before I calibrate the panel (or external monitor). Unfortunately I have to do the full calibration to get the color profile setting to stick. This indicates the problem is the color management is losing its association with the color.

This problem is causing me a lot of problems because I have to calibrate the panel and external monitor several times a day.
