Help, computer f'd up
Okay, i plugged in my ipod, and accidentally disconnected it from the computer when it said do not disconnect. after that, or around that time, my entired d drive (partition) with about 15 gbs of music, programs, games and everything was ERASED COMPLETELY. I was extremely mad. I ran check disk and that didnt help. Now, my computer is running slow as ever, an dits brand new. My games kept freezing so i am getting a replacement video card from the company on tuesday, but there is no way that this can all be happening due to this? Also, when i tried to run warcraft 3, windows kept saying : make sure its in the cd tray, retry/cancel. When i opened the tray and put it back in the game would usually start. now, it does not start, i uninstalled warcraft, and when i put it back into the tray, and it does not autorun for some reason. I go to file explore and try to click on the drive, and half the time it says drive I (meaning its a blank cd) the other times it says warcraft 3 but when i click on it, the explorer window stops responding. wtf.

Uhm, sounds like a serious problem here m8.
I don't know what is causing this except something is seriously wrong. Personally I would try to see what i could save from the partition you mentioned, either by some restore tool or by trying to put the HDD into another computer and then try to get it from there, and then i would reformat the entire thing and create new partitions.
I hope for your sake that others have better solutions than mine, but I cannot think of other things I would do.
Best of luck!

Man you really have bad luck with PC's!
Sounds like the IDE controller is messed up....which makes sense...CDRoms not working, hard drive stuff disappearing....
Try using different IDE cables and make sure theyre not crimped. And turn off *ANY* overclocking

Its worth a look. You might just replace the whole cable.
Or go and buy a PC that comes from a major OEM and then everytime it messes up get them to deal with it...at this rate you'll never enjoy the thing

Seems a little more like spyware if it happend right after you unpluged it. You cold go through hundreds of spyware programs and each of them will detect different things.
Reboot in safe mode by pressing f8 when you turn your pc on. Then run safe mode and do system restore.
If that doesn't work you need a formatt.

I'd say format anyway and use partition magic to make sure your D:\ partition is safe, then hide it from windows until you reform
