Vote: I have had CCC installed for over 7 days or less
Mainly because this one with the release of the 5.6's is the most stable since it's release.as the cp will cease to exist at the end of the year all the ccc can do is improve.
Well, tried it each release, and 5.6 CCC is an improvement - loads quicker, does not lag on changing settings ... My problem with it is that if Ati Hotkey Pooler service is running, and Overdrive is enabled, I get stuttering during benchmarks or games, when a part of CCC is being loaded from swap to memory (I think that's happening). These stutters are not present with classic control panel. And I do not like driver reset on it's load. But it really has come a long way since the beginning - it's blazing fast compared to former releases. Personally, I like the look and feel, but still not ready to use it ... Future hardware improvements will probably make the difference between resources it takes compared to classic one minor. Maybe leaving out support for classic CP was a little early?
well i started using CCC from 5.5 however i dont think i will use it anymore unless ATI finds a way to DRASTICALLY reduce the load times and mem usage!
have it installed now and am about to remove it. 1/2 the time it fails to load. the other half it loads but takes 15-20 to load.
On a clean install of 2003 with an a64-3000+@3800+, 1gb high end pc3200,x800xt pe it shouldnt take so long to load.
Also its added 25030sec to shutdown........im sorry but thats bull. I have used other .net based apps and .net based mem resedent apps and none of them caused shutdown to take so much longer.
I personaly feel (As do others) that there are better ways to do the same things then by using .net based CCC.
