1680 X 1050 Resolution on Acer AL2032W
I just bought the Acer AL2032W but my Redeon 9600 (128MB) could not power the 1680 X 1050 native resolution. To get around this I decided to install the Omega Drivers to see if I could use the custom resolution options. This did not work on my DVI interface but it seems to have worked on my RGB interface. The aspect ration of everything on my monitor looks good, graphics look good too, but text is fuzzy.
Does anyone know of a setting I can tweak within Omega to make text look sharp?

Image copy looks good
I took a screen shot and cropped it (because it's enormous). Then I looked at it on my second monitor and it is crystal clear. Does this mean anything?!?

I get a black screen untill I get down to 1360 X 768 -which looks good. I guess it may have to do until I get a better video card.

I just found the thread titled "Radeon 9600 support 1680 by 1050" at:
Radeon 9600 support 1680 by 1050? It looks like the 9600 just doesn't cut it -even with Omega. I just ordered a Saphire Radeon x800 to upgrade. If anyone knows of any issues with this card please let me know. Thanks,

Hi all
I know this is an old thread, but I have just purchased a 1680 x 1050 panel and have the same 'overscanning' problem. I have tried Omega 3833, ATI 7.3 and 7.4 drivers (though I do get an error at boot time with 7.4, yet to be resolved). I wish to run the 1680 x1050 alongside one 1600 x 1200 CRT I have two 19" CRTs just now, but whether it is with the panel as above or these CRTs, any resolution over 1600 wide causes the card's output to be wider than the screen, so the whole screen slides left/right as the mouse hits each side. This shouldn't happen with a CRT! This is now May 2007, not years ago, 1680 and upwards is supported by these latest drivers. Mboard, Asus P4C800-E. P4, 3GHz, 2GB ram, XP Pro. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be very welcome. ttfn tony |

if you have ati tray tools goto tweaks>advanced tweaks>display tweaks and check add native modes to mode table and allow monitor range limit modes then try changing your res |

does att give an error msg when you try to start it or does it seem do anything? and whats the file error you get on boot?
"Can you advise me the best way to clean up and start afresh, please?" grab a copy of this and install it http://www.google.ca/search?q=dcprosetup_15.zip reboot into safemode goto the device manager>display adapters rightclick your card and uninstall it then start drivercleaner and remove all the ati entries (not the igp one) then reboot and try installing drivers again |
