Does TAA still have a Threshold?
So having finished my complete overhaul/upgrade on my Machine (see Sig) I topped it off with a LG 19" TFT.
Ubi ACTUALLY released Iron Wrath(the "3rd" Expansion to RvS if you want it get it Here ) so I have gone and reinstalled the Raven Shield and Athena Sword to play the new one. Now with my new X800XT I can pretty much run this game absolutely Maxed (6x 16X) but I figure I can also tun TAA but if I recall it has a Threshold value of 60FPS , SO my monitors Native Res is 1280x1024@60hz so I basically get 59FPS in games with V-synch on
OK having said all that, Does TAA still have a 60FPS Threshold??

TAA has a threshhold set to the same as your refresh rate. for TAA to work it has to be VSync'ed, hence the threshold. In your case, as with most LCDs your maximum refresh is 60 Hz, and that sets the threshold to 60 frames.

well, all well and good I guess if anything actaully hit 60FPS as you know it generally runs 1 or 2 frames under the Maximum. fact is pretty much runs at a constant 59FPS

I thought the threshhold was always 60, even with VSync on @ 75 Hz I still only get 60 FPS with TAA on, using 5.4's

Well thats how I understood it too but at 1280x1024 my max refresh is 60hz so in games my max FPS is 59fps so by that logic TAA isnt running

The threshold can be changed; I have it set to 30. I don't remember the exact registry key by heart but I assume someone will pop in and post it. If not, I will once I get home

"TemporalAAFrameThreshold" can be added as a string key
You can search for "TemporalAAMultiplier" in the registry to see where to add it

heh Im stuck at 59FPS but Im gonna give that Reg key edit a go. I mean I have to say the ATI needs to take a look at that seeing as so many people are now using LCDs that only have 60Hz refresh maxs at their Native Resolutions and I am now addictied to 1280x1024

You already had the "TemporalAAFrameThreshold" entry? If so you just add the number you want the threshold to be. If it's 0 it means there is no threshold and TAA is always enabled no matter what framerate you have.
btw this:
http://www.gaeugf.ch/ted/RegKey.rar is alitte program which tells you to which key in the registry you exactly have add the "TemporalAAFrameThreshold" entry

okay scratch that there are 2 keys matching that description(BTW thanks for that proggy) the first one appears to have a value of 30 the Reg Binary, at least it looks like 30 and the second one is the the Reg SZ which is set to 0 so perhaps it is already lowered to 30?

The reg binary value 30 means 0. It's equivalent to reg SZ with value 0

I just want to mention that the "TemporalAAFrameThreshold" entry isn't supposed to be there already , it has to be added manually. If you have it already then some other program most likely some tweaker has added it.

Takes the most space too.
I'd say just go for it. Eventually everyone needs to know how to edit the registry. Its a life skill!

That would be odd seeing as the only "Tweaker I use is ATI Tool to control Fan Speeds and monitor Temps and it doesnt like TAA in the first place
@ Ray I like your proggy but can I use this tweak and will it stick or do I have to have the Tray Tools running?(Im a Resource Miser and dont like runnin extra stuff)

No needs in ATT in memory. You can edit it, and unload ATT.
BTW ATT uses not more than 2-3Mb of RAM, even some system services take more memory
