Access Denied when installing any drivers for anything.

When I tried installing my ATi drivers, the setup works but after restarting I'm still on default graphics VGA thing. Under hardware->Display adapters, it shows CP RADEON 9200SE (Omega), something to that extent, but it has a yellow yield sign and said it wasn't properly installed.

I tried manually installing by loading the inf file, it gets to the very end then I get the error Access Denied. and installation finishes and it did nothing. My setupapi says this as well:

#E122 Device install failed. Error 5: Access is denied.
#E154 Class installer failed. Error 5: Access is denied.

But no other error messages where in there.

Getting mad, I went off to try and install my Sound Blaster Audiogy2 card, installing works, but it says my drivers weren't fully installed for that either and I get the same Access is Denied.

Anyway to get access?(And I've tried installing in safe mode)

try doing a fresh install. Uninstall everything, run drivercleaner, and then reinstall. If problem happens again, write back.

I already did a complete uninstall with driver cleaner... I don't think has anything to actually do with the drivers, I think, but more a long the lines of some type of permissions my computer has disabled or something.

run gpedit.msc, then computer -> windows settings -> security settings -> local policies -> user rights assignment -> load and unload device drivers
your user account or your group should be there, if it ain't, add it. hope this helps.

P.S.: i'm assuming you aren't in a domain, or else this won't work.
