well i have noticed that it sometimes tend to freeze for a short time but not that it freeze altogether but still it si a bit jerky but then again i donīt use it so often and because i donīt know everything and every option like i do with the old cp
so but ti works withou lock ups and so on so i guess it has been improved from time to time and gets better all the time so keep it up ATI

Voting right now would give these drivers a 1. However, I will withhold my ballot and wait a reasonable amount of time for someone to help me with my Trackmania Sunrise issue in the main 5.5 thread.
Edit: Wrong thread. Will C and P to drivers poll. Mods. please feel free to delete this post.

Is it offtopic to ask whats the advantage in CCC over the classic control panel?

Some obversations about the 5.5 CCC. I hope ATI keeps improving it.
- When installed over the 5.4 crash on the 3D viewer. Warning should be given that first CCC must be uninstalled. - starts slow (why so much internet traffic???) - some help index refers to wrong item (starting at "Video for Pre-Radeon(R) 9500 Series") - loses 3d full screen gamma settings when window mode or <ALT> <TAB> - wanted: option to automaticaly set highest refresh rate on resolution change - wanted: easier acces to resolution change. That's it for now.... Game on! |

Thanks! I knew that but I wanted to see if that was changed with the CCC version. When installing there even is a message "removing old version"... There is no warning displayed when installing over a previous version. This gives mr Avarage User the idea that everything is fine, while it's not... So either it should work or the user should be given a warning before installing the driver+CCC. IMHO of course ![]() Edit: By the way... I climbed the Sydney harbour bridge...

the older Radeon drivers up to 5.4 included a .txt file sorta readme. There is mentioned to uninstall first, but this file seems vanished in 5.5 Maybe they put it back in? PS: I never have been to Sydney - do I miss something? |

Off Topic: I only spend one day+evening in Sydney. Had a good time there. Lot's of things to do and see. Busy city centre. (I was on a one month trip on the east coast, from Cairns to Melbourne). Now, how do we link Australia to the CCC so we keep the moderators away

What do you mean there's no point to CCC. Isn't CAT AI enough reason?

Not really, you can change the AI with 3rd party applications, such as Ati Tray Tool, Radlinker etc. If you wanted to, you could always change it via Reg Editor.

I think that the old cp doesn't have it, because maybe AI need a constant program running and is not. But i dont how ATT use it, maybe it transfers that task for im self? can anyone put some light on this???
