BSOD - problem with ati2dvag.dll - WTF?!

Hi
A few days ago, after installation of Cat5.4, I began to have problems with my 9800PRO.

The problem: constant BSOD's randomly, ONLY in Windows, not in games. The BSOD came with a message of a driver error, ati2dvag.dll.

Tried to switch the drivers to the Cat. Omega 5.2. Same problem. Tried NGO 5.4. Same problem!

WTF? I think that is a DRIVER/software problem, not hardware. Anyone can help me?

give drivercleaner a go
remove all ati entries but ati igp, boot into safemode first
then reinstall your video drivers

I always do that before installing new drivers.

well have you tried the drivers that were working before, ati2dvag.dll isnt for 3d anything so you could try using the older version of it with newer drivers.

I already thought about doing this. I'll try it soon, but for now I instaled 5.3 in my system and, in 2 days, the problem apparently gone.

I'm having the same problems with my sapphire x800xl agp and I still get the error even after using drivercleaner. The "page fault in non page area" error occurs randomly at the desktop; hasn't happened during a game, just when I least expect it a right-click of the mouse or when I changed the channel of my wintv and then BSOD all of a sudden.
