I don't think many expected the x64 driver to be on track. Lets hope this is the beginning of a trend shift.

Windows XP 64 has not been in shops yet and most are still using Windows XP 32
Anyway Windows Xp 64 is still very young and with low support right now it needs to be mature, it will take time until they become a priority, and if....because Windows Longhorn is going to replace all Windows XP OS next year anyway
2006 is not far away

Uuuhhh, Vasot, x64 has been RTM, which means that it is ready to go NOW. It's just a matter of getting the CD's manufactured. We should be seeing it in a month or less.
Nice to see that the x64 5.4's are WHQLed too

That depends from the country (in European countries it will take a while as i heard)
Also i am hearing there are still compatibility problems in some games with Windows 64
example Splintel Cell Chaos Theory as someone mentioned
I still think that until it has the full support from all the Software companies then it will be a great OS to install and will need time to be matured to become really better
But right now it sucks somehow

try http://www.planetamd64.com from what I hear from current users its fine and most games work fine. a few older games have some minor issues but in most cases its a flaw in the game that causes the problem not in windows.

Most problems seem to be coming from the copy protection on the games, in most cases its possible to get around the problems by using a no-cd crack, not an ideal situation but for older games that are effected it will probably be the only solution. One of the more recent games to have problems is DOOM III, it won't even install as there is a OS check in the installer that fails with XP64, manually copying the games files to the harddrive works though.

That doom thing is EASY to fix.
get the 2003 moded msi. It removes os check. Very easy and works flawless.
I am a 2003 user. as i find it more reliable, stable, well built then xp with far less buggs.
X64 is 2003 based and hence the issue with doom3.
As for issues with copy protection try daemontools or other such apps last i checked it runs fine under x64 (havent installed full x64 rtm yet as im waiting for omega drivers and full audio drivers for my board.

Ok I just tried this on my rig:
athlon 3000+
1gb ram
9800pro
Doom3, mix of ultra/high: 45.7fps
3 fps lower than I get with the Omega 4.12s. Seems my fps in Nexuiz went down a bit more than that, but otherwise these are solid. Cant wait for tweaked ones Peace,
