DOS-Fullscreen not working on 9600 TX

Hi Folks,
I'm new in here - hi to everyone!

Specs:
Sys: WinXP
GraCa: Radeon 9600 TX
Drivers: Radeon Omega Drivers 2.6.12

After Installing new Display-Drivers I got the following prob:
I got a DOS-Application which usually uses DOS-Mode fullscreen when started. Now I installed the newest Omega-Drivers (Radeon Omega Drivers 2.6.12) and when trying to start that DOS-application, it switches to 640x480 but the screen is just black. When exiting the app (with 'closed eyes') everything is fine again.
Why is there no 640x480-Resolution?
In Properties-Dialog the lowest resolution possible is 800x600 - is that the problem?

What do I have to do, to get the DOS-App to work?
I need 640x480

thanks in advance!

cheers
tension
btw: unfortunatly, switching to 800x600 and then run DOS-App in window is possible, but no acceptable alternative

Thanks Spyre,
but I have to switch to that app several times a day during normal windows-session. Restarting my computer everytime can't be the solution.

Downward-compatibility is REALLY important.
Why did they throw out that 640x480-resolution?
Or am I just too stupid to find/run it???

any other suggestions?
cheers

Huh? you dont have to restart the pc to run in compatability mode

Right click on the .exe file, select properties, then the compatability tab and make the changes there

Also if you untick the 'hide modes that this monitor cannot display' in the display settings of XP 640 x 480 is then available from the CCC

System Specs

If you didn't install Multires, you have to turn on "Scale image to panel size"/ Get into the control panel (Right click on desktop -> display properties ->advanced) Click the display tab and select your monitor. Under panel attributes click "Scale image to panel size". Check and see if that fixes it.

Welcome to DH!

When checking that 'run in 640x480'-option in the exe-rightclick-properties-menu, and then starting the app - the resolution doesn't change at all. Checking the 'fullscreen'-option again results in the black screen I already told you...

If I uncheck 'hide modes that this monitor cannot display' nothing changes. There is still NO 640x480 available in the resolution-section.

@Vikingod: I HAVE installed 'Multires' (though I dont know what its for -> right now I'm home again and dont have access to that pc)

Thanks for your hints, guys!
any other suggestions?
(I know it's a PEBCAK... sorry!)

cheers
