Default Post 9700 and browsers, oh my!

Just got my new 9700, and I'm blown away by the speed, not to mention the image quality and the compatibility!

...

Except when it comes to my most used applications, which seem to have the most trouble with it. I mean, of course, web browsers.

Web browsers. Mozilla (and Phoenix) hard-lock regularly (I thought they fixed that bug...?), and scrolling with Internet Explorer is painfully slow... much slower than I've ever seen before. Still, it works, which makes it my primary browser...

Still, Phoenix is much more featuriffic, much smaller, and (quite frankly) I'm an open source kind of person, and I can't stand looking at that Microsoft logo...

Anyone know a way to get Phoenix to stop hard-locking? Or else to get IE to scroll properly?

(I'm using the latest Plut's with XP Pro SP1, 1600+ with 512m DDR)

After I put my 9000Pro in, my IE was doing the same thing.....was as simple as fixing the resolution - it appeared as 1024x768 on my screen, but was listed as 800x600 under my settings.

When you upgraded, did you completely uninstall all drivers for the card in there before (deleting the directories created by them as well), AND uninstall the device from the device manager prior to installing the new card? If not, your problem is likely holdovers from your previous card.

well I cant comment on Phoenix as I dont use it but Mozilla and IE work perfectly fine with my 9700 and config and I dont have any scrolling issues.

It really does sound like you should try a clean install of either the 6193 or the 6200 set. deinstall the set, clean the registry.

The only issue I have with ATI drivers is shadowing on menus, but I normally run my win XP pro config in classic mode with most of the eye candy turned off in performance settings.
