Default Post 6200 xp/2k, 9069 for 9x/me

Two reasons:

1. They're the fastest, most stable, and least buggy ATI drivers to date that I have tried.

2. ATI doesn't want us to be able to use them yet.

And I honestly couldn't tell you which is the most compelling reason for me.

The 6200s. They're fast and have the best image quality of any set I've tried.

How did you go about installing these drivers? Under what kind of an OS install?

We'll be glad to help, we just need a few details.

I got to agree. I'm a "born-again-newbie" when it comes to XP, and I had a LOT of troubles with viddy drivers before I took a few minutes to do my homework and figured out how to un-install them properly.

I thought I could get away with just cleaning them out "by ear", but XP is a muchly different beast than 9x/me and I needed to learn a few things before I could get it to work. A bad un-install in XP with drivers installed on top of it behaves EXACTLY like you're describing, I'd recomend studying up a bit on XP un-installing and try installing the drivers again.

Default Post Help...please...

I have a question about these 6200 drivers for XP. First off, here's my rig:
Athlon XP 1700+
512 MB DDR PC2100 Ram
1 60 & 1 30 gig hard drives
SoundBlaster Audigy with latest drivers
Radeon 8500 64MB DDR

I can install other ati drivers without any problems(and I know how to uninstall correctly), but when I try to install this 6200 set, it asks for ati2mtag.sys, and tells me to make sure the path is correct or insert my ati install disc that came with my card. Well...If I install the drivers off of the cd and either install the 6200's on top of those or uninstall the older drivers and run the 6200 setup it STILL asks for that ati2mtag.sys to copy over and quits the 6200 setup.

The funny part about this is that I can install any other set fine(6193, omega/plutonium/etc..). Can anyone help me out here? I want to try these drivers but I keep getting this 'error.' Oh and by the way, I did a fresh reinstall of XP last night(drivers wouldn't install before XP install either), so reinstalling Windows didn't help at all.

Help a brotha out here.

um yes, i'm not one of those people that doesn't know jack about computers - so where can i get my hands on these drivers? the current ones i have - 6166 are decent but war3 still crashes occasionally and that really p!sses me off. i was hoping a new update to drivers would help, but have just heard of ati going apesh!t. so can someone e-mail me a copy? or somehting like that, a link would be helpful, but whatever is allowed by these forums. thanks

Whenever you are in need of a file (no matter if driver, patch, or anything else, legal or not) first thing you should check out is http://www.filemirrors.com
The tricky part is sometimes to figure out the name of the file or at least some hints.
For instance if you were looking for a file called 779b2.exe you would type that in the search box on the top right and press find.

When the moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter aligns with Mars, or whenever ATI feels like it.

Unless I can find a set first, in which case....

Seriously, I wouldn't expect anything new until Comdex. Then I expect a bit of a silly season of driver releases from EVERYBODY! (Me LOVES trade expositions! )

(Hmmmmm.....Det 5's anyone? )

This one slipped past me, but I had to put a "Ha-ha!" up.

Funny!
