Default Post ATI RADEON AIW 8500DV & Creative Audigy compatibility

My Problem is that my TV tuner from the MMC 7.6 does not work with my "Audigy player" soundcard. When I disable my soundcard the TV tuner works fine, but when my soundcard is properly installed and I try to run the TV tuner the following error message appears: Atimmc has caused an error in TVDS.dll. Atimmc will close now. Has anyone a solution for this problem? Any possible drivers, anything, I'm quite desperate at the moment.

I don't know if either Creative or ATI have actually acknowledged this yet, but there is a compatibility problem with those two pieces of hardware. It is thoroughly discussed in the following thread over at Rage3D. The simplest solution is to do a drivers only install on your Audigy. This allows the two cards to coexist peacefully, however, in doing so you lose EAX and 4 speaker support. There are a few other things mentioned throughout the thread that may help. Good luck.

I never lost 4 speaker support, sure I don't have all the fancy control panels, but all 4 speakers work.

(Or get an Audigy Platinum)

Well, I don't know.. that's just what I read. I only have 2 speakers and Live! 5.1, so I can't speak for myself. Maybe that's what Shrink meant...that you lose the ability to play with the speakers via the conrol panels. I dunno. I'm perfectly happy with my Live! 5.1 that works flawlessly with my 8500DV.
