I think 9 points are fair.
ATi did a very good job with getting the Catalyst-drivers that stable & compatible they are. Well ... there are only very few increases in speed--but compatiblity raised by a small amount.

BTW: Don't mind. 10 points means "perfect" to me -- and that's impossible.

Raff

With the 4.12's I score 101.23 in the source stress test. With the 5.1's I score a 85.01

4.12's work fine so no need to update unless I read words like "fast", "awesome", etc.

Gave ´em a 10 coz when I changed to watercooling on my 9700pro the 4.12s and 4.11s ceased to work and I had to go back to the 4.10s No pic at all after bootscreen and these just booted into desktop perfectly !

Utter crap. Even after using the ModTools for my Mobility Radeon 9200 it complains that the new drivers are not compatible with my card.

Gave it a 5. Too ho hum. No optimizations or performance increases, and most importantly, the memory allocation situtation with 256mb cards is still not optimal.

their not suppose to work with your laptop... those are not supported. im sure that omega and patje will help you out if you ask them tho, well you will have to wait for omega to release his, but patje may help you with the mod tool if its not working.

ATI seem to have a hard time starting of this year.?!? whats up with that?

are the drivers so super optimized that nothng can be tuned and made faster and better? are the all done with OpenGL optimizations?

This is a solid release so I vote a 9. No dramatic speed or performance boost but I assume the code was pruned to lay the ground work for future plans. Catalyst are all about evolution IMO.
It seems ATI is focusing on CCC in preparation for .net2 and phasing out the old CP.

I gave this set a 7. I like there stability but, no performance increases. I would rather have stability than speed, besides everything is still playable for me. Speed hits were negligable so all in all a descent set of cats.

I gave them a 4 I was very dissapointed w/ the whole DRiver/CCC in general. I expected ATI to have something special up their sleeve for the first release of the new year. For the first time in probably a yr the drivers did not install properly the first time, plus i am getting performance decreases across the board. I think these drivers are a definite step back from the 4.12's and even 4.12 betas. I ended up switching back to the 4.12s.

Has anyone here found that games crash on 5.1's after overclocking and playing for about an hour or more? sometimes shorter (our beta testers have found some problems with overclocking and the 5.1's). Any input?
