Did you try going into Properties> Advance Properties> and goto the tab Options and uncheck Windows Media Acceleration (or maybe you need to check it??)

Hello, I'm facing the same problem with the Windows Media Player 10, I just installed the Omega Driver 2.5.97a. I tried playing Divx and .AVI files they froze and the only thing I could hear was the sound. But then I runned the Divx movie on Divx Player it was running fine.. but sometimes it freezes. I tried installing the old Omega Driver 2.5.44 it doesn't have the same problem. Hey Jaffaro you were saying go to Properties, I didn't understand is it for the WMP10 or Omega Driver Properties please clearify thank you! Please anyone help. I'll try my best to figure out stuff and post here.

I have the same problem with my laptop and the Omega drivers - it also affects the Catalyst 4.12's if you mod them onto a laptop.

I am talking about the Omega Driver advance properties and goto to the Options Tab and uncheck WMP or Windows Media Player Acceleration or whatever it called in ur case. This seems to work in most cases.

and to the other guy it doesn't effect my laptop

use media player classic
http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/

then uninstall all your old codecs, then install these only (it will allow you to play any and all movies)

DivX 5.2.1 Link Sep 9, 2004 Basic playback filter for all DivX content

XviD Link Aug 29, 2004 XviD 1.0.2 Final (Recommended stable version). Used for decoding all XviD content.

A-L Filter Pack Link Sep 25, 2004 Filter Pack Containing:
VSFilter 2.33b - Required for ALL (OGM/MKV) softsubs (Updated 9/25/04)
Matroska Splitter 1.0.2.4 - Required for MKV playback
OggDS 0.9.9.5 - Required for OGM playback
CoreVorbis 1.0 - Decoder for OGG audio in MKV files
CoreAAC 1.0b9 - Decoder for AAC audio in MKV files

AC3Filter 1.01a RC Link Aug 18, 2003 Required for AC3 playback

enjoy.

I just wanted to let those of you that recommend the codec updates to think again. A friend of mine recommended the codec issue as well, and I continually tried to convince him that the lack of the proper codec was not the problem at hand.

I analyzed each video file I tried to play with GSpot, made sure I had the proper codecs, and played them using Media Player. Turns out that the sound played smoothly, but the video stayed rather jumpy and never played smoothly.

I tested a DVD with my DVD player on my laptop, and the video continued to give me problems. I thought the conflict might have come from the RAM I installed, but that idea didn't make much sense. I had recently installed the Omega drivers for my Mobility chipset, integrated, and discovered that these glorious drivers are causing the conflict.

The problem is that if I uninstall the Omega drivers that I won't be able to play World of Warcraft with the correct textures displayed since I can't seem to download an actual ATI driver from the website. I know exactly what type of video I have, but the installer told me I had no ATI product on my computer.

From what I have read, these people have the exact same problem as I do, and I have no idea how to fix it aside from uninstalling the Omega drivers, which is something I don't want to do.

I just discovered something rather strange about my video conflict with the Omega drivers. It seems that whenever the mouse is moving, there is no lag in the video. This really seems to complicate things now...

dunno, it could be a problem but i dont think its the drivers themselfs.. .however a conflict with the driver and your system specs, i only say this because it doesnt happen to everyone.

omega should be releasing his new drivers soon, so u will be able to try them out and see if it helps,/

noooooooooooo, neon cowboy, dont tell anyone about codec packs, those are really really bad. they usually cause more problems because the people who make them dont know what their doing and just include a buncha junk thats not tested properly to work with other codecs and also other problems.

some people may not have a big problem, but some do... if you look at my post on page1 that is all anyone would ever need ever it plays almost 100% of anything, unless someone uses something like "techsmith" from camtastia which i think divx might play now (it may not).
